Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Her eyes widened and she tried to take a step back but he grabbed her wrist.

"You're not taking my blood from there," she said.

He smiled. "Are you saying you are planning to starve me tonight? Come on, I need your blood to survive."

He drew her wrist to his mouth before sinking his sharp fangs into her skin and he began to suck her blood.

Anastasia squeezed her eyes as the pain was too unbearable for her. She didn't feel any pleasure like when he was taking from her neck. All she felt right now was pain.

After he finished drawing her blood, he released her wrist. Anastasia closed her eyes for a moment before she opened them and returned to sit.

"So how was your day?" He asked, walking towards the cupboard and he fetched the first aid box.

"It was good," she replied.

"When are you leaving?" She asked.

"In a few days," he replied. "Will you miss you?"

Miss? I wish you would die while traveling there, she thought.

He walked towards her with the first aid box before fetching the bandage out. He covered the small bruise on her wrist.

"How many days do I have left?" She asked.

"When you've become so pale that you start turning purple," he said. "That's a big sign that you would be dead soon."

She looked down at her wrist. She was getting pale but it wasn't that obviously. This meant she still has a long way to go.

She leaned her back towards the chair.

Taking a cup of water, Cassius stood up and left the room.

The next morning when Anastasia was sitting down for breakfast, she took a sip from the tea Maggie had offered.

"Did you eat the biscuits I brought for you yesterday?" Maggie asked.

"Ohh I forgot," Anastasia said bringing her hand to cover her face.

With a small frown, Maggie walked to the cupboard to fetch the biscuits out before returning back to the dining room.

"They don't look as fresh as yesterday," Anastasia said. "You should discard them."

Maggie tried to control the anger that was rising within her. She had put something in the biscuit yesterday, in hope that Anastasia would eat it, and pass away.

"Did you woke up on the wrong side of bed for you to be frowning?" Anastasia asked with concern.

Maggie raised her head, a forcing a smile on her face. "I'm not feeling too well today. I apologize if i–"

"No it's okay," Anastasia cut it. Why should she be apologizing to her?

"The tea taste good," Anastasia nodded, taking another sip.

"Thank you. I made it myself." Maggie said.

While Anastasia continued to eat her food in silence, Maggie watched her from where she was sitting. She ate like prisoner, Maggie thought. The only reason she was this kind to her was because of the task Lucas had offered her. He had threatened to demote her to the lowest of all maids if she doesn't complete the task.

She felt like strangling her right now, calling her name's that would trigger her emotionally.

"About the plan on helping me escape," Anastasia broke the silence between them. "Cassius will be leaving the Kingdom in a few days."

"That's good to know," Maggie nodded. "Once he's away I would do what it takes to make sure you are out of here. You don't deserve this treatment."

Maggie approached the dining room and began to clear the dishes away.

Just as Anastasia continued to sit there, the bandage fell from her wrist and the wound was exposed.

Anastasia stood up from the chair, turning around to get another bandage from the first aid box. But before she could reach for it, she noticed Maggie following her. She spun around, her eyes widening in horror as she saw Maggie's eyes black out.

"Maggie?" Anastasia called out, taking a step backward. She looked down to see it was the wound that was triggering Maggie, and she quickly took her hand backward.

Maggie closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath. When she opened them again, they were normal.

"I'm…. I'm sorry," Maggie said shaking her head.

"No, it's alright," Anastasia reached for the first aid box and she got the bandage before wrapping her wrist.

"I should start leaving," Maggie smiled awkwardly before walking away.

Anastasia let out a sigh before sitting down on the sofa. She should have known better than getting too close to Maggie, a creature that one could not predict. They were all the same, driving insane for the lust of blood. With the rumours about mermaids circulating around the Kingdom, she would need to be extra careful if she manage to flee from here.

Meanwhile, at the other side of Blackwood Kingdom, Lucas stepped down from the carriage. He scanned the surroundings, taking a long deep breath.

One tall mysterious man, came out of the house, approaching Lucas. His messy black hair sway backward with the wind pulling him.

"Sire Lucas, please follow me," the man said.

Lucas turned around, to see if anyone is following him before returning his gaze back to the man. Descending the stairs of the dark house, he adjusted his eyes to see a young beautiful woman sitting on the chair with her hands and legs tied.

"Where are the others?" He demanded. "Take me to them."
