Chapter 22: Town Improvements

After Sumi had gotten her awards, of course the others would get theirs too. The second placer similarly received a blueprint for a Level 1 Tier 2 manor and warehouse. However, Quinn didn't provide material for this time.

For third placer, he only received a Tier 1 manor and warehouse blueprint with materials provided. For the last five, they had received a Tier 1 manor each and as for materials, they had to gather themselves.

Everyone was envious of their rewards but they could only lament themselves for not being strong enough. Anyway, they could still exchange for those as long as they work a little harder.

Days passed by and the town was growing livelier and livelier. Seeing the population rise, Quinn thought it was finally suitable to build a market place inside the plaza. He then planned to rent them to whoever wanted to do business and as long as they didn't do any damage or chaos to the place, they'd be welcome to do anything they want to it. They just had to pay with a tiny part of their profit as tax to Quinn.

As for how the future transactions will take place, just using contribution points weren't enough so Quinn wanted to make his own currency.

Quinn had the perfect material for making them. For coins, he planned to make small, medium and large sizes which would be equivalent to 1 cent, 5 cents, and 10 cents. For the material, he was gonna use Emperor Dragon's scales. With it as material, the coins will be indestructible aside from beings with a higher bloodline than Emperor dragon and Gods themselves probably only had higher bloodlines than Emperor Dragon.

Furthermore, the scales were large and so dense both in material and magic content that one scale could make a thousand 1 cent coins, five hundred 5 cent coins and one hundred 10 cent coins. If people wanted to get their hands on them, they have to exchange first with contribution points at the rate of 100:1. This immediately spoke of its value.

As for bills, Quinn made them out of Empress Phoenix's feathers. Similarly to the coins, they were indestructible. As for the material themselves, because of the complete physical mastery, both mounts' bodies were constantly being strengthened and shedding scales and feathers.

After hearing about the upcoming market and new currency, people immediately rushed over to exchange with the contribution points. Players and natives both went on a craze and raced to get the best spots in the market as fast as possible.

Some farmers took the chance to sell their own harvests. Everyone's toilets were actually connect to one place where all the feces were being refined and transformed into the highest quality natural fertilizer. They were being sold at a very low price that even farmers could actually buy a house full of it if the quantity was enough. This is why all the harvests being sold were all the highest quality. Some talented farmers even managed to nurture a few plants with faint magical properties.

Some adventurers also rented stalls where they sold all kinds of materials that they got as from their hunts.

Then there were some families with special recipes that they invented and opened their own restaurants.

In such a short time, half of the market was occupied and businesses started appearing one after the other.

As for Quinn, after building the market place and distributing the money, he directly handed everything else to Avelin and Jarvis together with their small team of subordinates. After all, just the matter regarding taxes immediately made Quinn's head hurt.

Quinn didn't want to be idle anymore seeing everyone work hard so he got himself a small part-time job, and that was to teach at school.

The main thing he actually taught was about Wilderness Survival and Identifying Plants and Animals.

Nobody was more suitable for this job than Quinn. For the past days, he hadn't been using his skill creation chances and he'd used one before he started teaching.

The skill he got was called [QUINN'S LIBRARY]. There was basically a library built inside his head now and all the knowledge he gained were stored here and could be later retrieved whenever he wanted. Coupled with [IDENTIFY] to provide information about everything he sees and [HAWK EYE] that expands his range of vision, his knowledge of wild life could already be compared to all-knowing Anrod or had even surpassed him.

Nevertheless, although he said he didn't want to be idle, he still couldn't get rid of his in built laziness and conducted half a day of classes for each week.

For each class he conducted, he combined all the students from the Magic Academy, Warrior Academy and other schools. Although the subject wasn't a major one for the other schools, they were still required to learn for at least once a week which happened to be in Quinn's classes.

To Quinn, he felt like he was really too lazy that he couldn't even teach for a whole day. But to the citizens, they felt like they a deeper understanding and connection to their Mayor. After all, he's the leader of a powerful town but was still willing to teach the youth of the town.

What made them like Quinn even more was that he was really knowledgeable about the subject and that his jokes which would be scorned by people on Earth actually made them laugh a lot.

Quinn naturally felt good being able to make people laugh with his shitty jokes and this was one of the things that kept him motivated to continue teaching.
