Skelengel; Tales Of The Boundless One [Not Updating]

When the universe creates a person, they are bestowed with certain traits that we, as mere humans, are aware of. Sportiness, the ability to work with computers, and creativity are all things we may obtain at creation. However, some of those talents extend far past the mortal realm of flesh and blood. They go all the way to your very soul, and these are the ones that we cannot see. These few are destined to become Boundless. And it just so happens that one was designated to die on the fateful day a new god took sight over the earth. This is the tale of Aaron Stone, the once businessman turned planetary traverser. Aided by himself and his potential, he plans to live out his life with peace of mind. However, the universe has it out for him, and it won't let him ever have true peace. However, someone from behind the shadows controls everything, and they have quite a distaste for Aaron Stone. They will try to make his life a living hell. Everything you read here is an account of something going on in the vast universe. Hell, who knows... It may even be YOU who takes his place in the future. The Reason?

Aaron and Monument teleported outside the building that Jill had brought them into, staring up into the bright sun. Aaron was interested in what would happen next, as as soon as he told himself he'd help keep the peace, he went and assaulted a man. Well, if we are honest, he did call Aaron 'just a skeleton', so he had to show him who was the one in control.

"You know, even though I appreciate this armour, would a simply robe not have served the same purpose?" Monument inquired, curious as to Aaron's reasoning. He didn't know why Aaron would choose such a method of covering him up.

"Well, here's my reasoning. If anyone sees your body, we are in serious trouble. Like why I have a helmet for my face and armour for my body. If fact comes known to the public that I am a skeleton, things are going go haywire, aren't they?" Aaron pointed out, revealing his logic. "I have had experience in hiding my face before, although I've never tried to make armour in the past, so I was surprised when it worked," Aaron admitted. He didn't expect it to work, but now he knew.

"So, what should we do now?" Monument asked Aaron, curious as to what his intentions were. If they had changed, it would be interesting to see what he thought on the matter. "Well, I plan to take on those leaders you mentioned. Do you know where I should fight them?" Aaron responded, asking Monument for directions. He didn't know where to go, as he didn't know how this world was laid out. He needed to rely on Monument for stuff like directions.

"Well, there is the option of fighting each the leaders individually, or making a risky move, and fighting the lesser guardians first. Doing that will give you all eight keys that the leaders would give you, along with the key of the guardian you fought." Monument explained. "Oh, I understand now, although, how will I get your key?" Aaron asked as it was a big deal if he couldn't do that.

"Oh, don't worry about that! I can just make a key for you right now! All the human leaders have to get the lesser guardians to make keys for them if they run out, so we just make them ourselves! Let me make one for you real quick!" Monument exclaimed, opening his palm. A rock-shaped item appeared in his palm, like magic. It was.

"This is the Guardian's Rock. It's the highest rock badge you can get, as I am the Higher Earth Guardian, after all!" Monument proclaimed, drawing the attention of some passer-by's. Aaron quickly grabbed Monument b the helmet, pretending to cover his mouth. "Dude, stop lying!" Aaron yelled out, trying to make everyone else believe the lie. They bought it and just went along with their business.

"Thank god they believed me." Aaron sighed before looking back at Monument. "Do NOT say stuff like that out in public! Do you realise how much trouble we could get in if people started to get suspicious about if we were telling the truth? Seriously, one wrong move, and we are both getting sent back to your cave." Aaron warned Monument, trying to show how serious the situation was. One wrong move. One mispronounced word, and that was the end of their little adventure, as that's where Monument is supposed to be. Aaron would probably be forced along with him, considering the fact that Monument was absorbed by him. It wouldn't be pleasing anybody, knowing that one of the most important figures in their recorded history was eaten by a skeleton.

"Alright! I get it! Please, stop pulling me backwards! It feels like my legs are going to snap under this pressure!" Monument yelled out, trying to tell Aaron that this leg bending hurt. Aaron realised what he was doing and let go. Monument fell to the floor, creating a slight crashing noise. After all, he was wearing armour, so of course, it'd make noise when he fell.

"Hey, Monument, are you all right there?" Aaron asked out of sheer curiosity. He wanted to see if he'd be in pain due to the fall. Monument stood up and brushed off the armour. "I'm fine, except for the pain delivered by gravity. Since I still have a decent bit of weight, I'm affected the same way by gravity as I was before." Monument re-assured Aaron, stretching his body.

"Ah, that's good to hear! At least I know that the saying 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall' still applies!" Aaron chuckled, leaving Monument confused. "Where did you hear that saying? I've never heard of such a saying before," Monument asked, curious about this new saying. "It sounds like I'd be able to learn something from it."

"Well, the saying means 'The more important or powerful a person is, the more difficult it is for them when they lose their power or importance'. Like when an important person gets framed for a crime. They lose all credibility. It also is used in the literal sense, as if you were your original size, you probably would have levelled the entire area. Maybe the city if you were intent on destroying it." Aaron explained, showing off the meaning behind the saying he had learned on earth.

"Wow. It has two meanings. One literal, and one with a meaning! It's an impressive saying!" Monument complimented Aaron. "Although, where did you learn it?"

"Well, I learned it in a place I was long ago. An old friend taught it to me." Aaron vaguely replied, trying to remember any of the memories he had on earth. Michael, his co-worker. He wouldn't stop talking. That one investor that kept nagging him. Those were the only two important things, but then he remembered something. Books. The series he loved the most. Skullduggery Pleasant. It had a skeleton as one of the protagonists.

Shadow told him that he was chosen as a skeleton because he didn't want to feel pain, yet there had to be a reason for him being a skeleton, right? Any monster could have the painless body skill, yet she just so happened to choose a skeleton?

He wasn't complaining, but he was just curious. Was it a coincidence?

There was always a chance it wasn't. What was the reason? The REAL reason?

I hope you enjoyed this chapter! :)
