Elaine's hand shook when the knock came again. She gulped in nervousness as her eyes kept fixed on the door. Was it Hayford? Gosh, No! She was not prepared for him yet!

What was she going to say? Tell him she loved him? How to even start this whole thing was a big headache. No! What should she do?

The person knocked again and this time, the sudden knock scared the crap out of Elaine, causing her to lose hold on the tray. It came crashing down with the other utensils, the glass breaking into several pieces. Now shards of glass flew everywhere, in all directions.

The door flew open with a start, and a worried Hayford budged in. His eyes searched the room and settled on her. As soon as their eyes met, Elaine's body slightly shook in fright, like a kid who had been caught in a shameful act.

"I... I..." She tried to speak, but nothing coherent was formimg. Her eyes were still widely opened and her breathing was a bit haggard.
