"Ivy?" Derek calls out to me as I start to walk away.
I pretend like I don't hear him, wanting to save this for a later time. I should have known better because Derek is use to getting his way. He runs in front of me and guides me into a conference room.
I shake his hand off my shoulder, "You do realize that its my first day here and I need to go find a locker right?"
"Since when have you worked in Seattle?" He dismisses what I said.
I pretend think, "Hmm maybe since I don't know, my intern year. I've been in Seattle for the past four years but you wouldn't know that cause you don't call me, you don't care to hear my opinion or care what I have to say, so if you will excuse me, I need to go get ready to be a doctor. See you later Der."
I storm out of the room and conveniently find Jackson and Charlie racing to the elevators. I manage to jump on just in time. Already in there is a man who looks kind of tired, but kind of hot. He has short brown hair and is taller than me.
Jackson and Charlie are able to tell that I am in a mood so they don't say a word to me. We ride up, the other guy and I staying quiet while Jackson and Charles chat with each other.
When we got to our floor we all exited, the guy hurried ahead while we met up with April and Reed. We all had our orange scrubs on while only us girls were wearing our lab coats. We get to the locker room and are told to find a locker. April, Reed, and I find lockers next to each other but when Reed went to put her things in a locker, a girl with short blonde hair speaks up, "Oh hey, no you can't put that there."
"Oh they told us to grab a cubby," Reed explains.
The blonde calmly explains, "Yeah, I know, its just- we keep it empty for a reason. Can you just take your stuff out, there's some empty ones over there you can use."
Reed dismisses her, "I don't think so."
"Come on Reed, just take it out. Its our first day, let's not cause trouble," I try and smooth over, seeing a fight happening.
She shakes her head at me and continues to put her stuff in, "I said take it out."
Reed mumbles to April and I, "Oh great, I got the crazy one next to me."
Obviously, she hears this, "Oh you want to fight, cause I will fight you. You-"
The guy from earlier comes in and grabs her arms. Dragging her out. I feel Charles and Jackson come stand behind me.
"You know you could have just moved your stuff. That wasn't needed," I say, dryly.
She looks at me, "And give them all the power, no way!"
I roll my eyes, "Whatever, we have other things to worry about. Like patients or-"
"-or dealing with long-lost brothers," Jackson pocks fun at me.
Charles laughs, so I of course head slap them and walk out, April and Reed following behind me.

We go to the ER and see an attending with some residents in front of him. I hear him say, "At this point, anywhere is good."
Jackson speaks up, "At Mercy West we do zones."
I finish his thought, "When we're busy, we give everybody a zone. A space, a nurse puts a person in that space, you know its your patient. Helps you get to them quicker."
"Yeah, well see this is not a school yard. We're not playing four-square," one of them says, shoving her way to the front.
I mumble to Reed, "You would think we were in middle school with how petty everyone is acting."
"I like it," the attending says.
The other doctor can't believe it, "What?"
"Its a good idea. Lets try it, what's you twos names?" He asks Jackson and I.
"Jackson Avery."
"Ivy Shepherd," at this they all turn and look at me.
Thankfully, the attending just pushes past for now, "Dr. Avery, Dr. Shepherd, I'm Dr. Hunt," he shakes our hands and then walks between us, "Its all yours, zone away,"
We smile at each other and rush forward. Jackson and I take charge of zoning everything. I talk with the nurses and help them evaluate.

Jackson and I are standing in the ER when a paramedic comes in, "Frank Newsbaum, 42. Multiple, mostly superficial stab wounds, vital signs stable but he's got a lacerated-"
The chart is then removed from Jacksons hands as the same resident from earlier comes in, "Got it, thanks Ray."
Another man is lead by another paramedic and I jump in to help them, "I am not his buddy! He touched my little girl, my baby!"
"She's not a baby. She's 19 years old. There's not a scrap of baby left on her!" Frank yells.
I escort the dad to sit down on a bed as Jackson goes to ask the other resident if she needs help. I pull his shirt back to look at any wounds he has when Frank shouts, "He tried to cut off my-"
My patient then shoots up, "COME ON! I was gesturing, you ran into the knife, you're an idiot and a pervert!"
Jackson comes over and tries to help me get him to sit down as he continues to rant, "She use to babysit you're brats, I can't believe I ever let her in your house!"
I try and pull him down while Frank yells back, "I love her Don."
At that he sits back down and I can continue to examine him, "I love her and she loves me."
Don shoots back up, "I'm gonna kill him, let him die, just let him die!"
Jackson pushes him back down as I whisper to the nurse next to me, "Not a good thing to say to a doctor."
She just giggles softly to herself as we focus on trying to help Don as much as possible.
The other resident tells Jackson and I to shut him up and Jackson turns to her, "Are you sure there's nothing I can do?"
She finishes, "There, that is how we do it on our side of town."
I roll my eyes at Jackson and continue to work on Don. Jackson and I go over to Reed and look over some papers while Charlie talks to the girl from earlier.

A girl runs into the ER as Jackson and I are checking over Don. She runs over and kisses him, "Frank. Oh God, honey are you ok?"
