Beneath the veiled night sky, a half-moon casting a dim glow, Darian stealthily navigated the narrow alley's shadows, trailing Emilie. After a winding journey that spanned thirty minutes from the imposing Gremory castle, Emilie abruptly halted in an open expanse resembling a park.
"She finally stopped after wandering so long," Darian murmured, his form slouched against the alley walls.
In the open ground, a green magic circle illuminated before Emilie, unveiling a tall man with dark green hair and piercing yellow eyes, standing at a height of 5 feet 11 inches.
"My Darling Emilie, you've finally responded to my messages. Do you know how much i missed you?" The man's words dripped with romantic fervor, yet Emilie's countenance remained stoic.
Meanwhile, Darian lay sprawled on the ground, his back pressed against the cold stone, feeling as though his soul had abandoned his body. "No way she came here to meet her lover. Why is this happening to me? Who is controlling my life?" Darian muttered in disbelief, at what he saw a man from the magic circle poped out and then the man leaped around, wearing a jubilant smile and making endearing gestures, leaving Darian to decipher the undeniable truth – he was Emilie's lover.
"You idiot, look! Something is happening," Ebonfang, with its detached head floating beside Darian, interjected.
"I don't want to witness their lovey-dovey scene," Darian retorted.
"It's not a love scene; it's a forced scene," Ebonfang clarified.
" What?"
Darian reluctantly turned his head, only to witness the mysterious man clasping Emilie's hand, while she struggled in an attempt to break free.
"Shit, I was wrong; he's not a lover boy, he's a stalker boy," Darian whispered as he observed Emilie pushing the man away while he persistently tried to approach her.
"Heheheee, this is a golden opportunity for me to shine," Darian whispered with a creepy smile.
"Golden opportunity? You don't mean by going and saving her, do you? If you're make a proper plan before rushing in, considering he might be a strong opponent," cautioned Ebonfang.
"Of course, I have a plan, and the plan is to make myself a hero who saves her from her stalker and also gives that idiot a sense that she is my maid and belongs only to me," confidently stated Darian as he walked out slowly.
"Emilie, your hero is coming," Darian whispered to himself as he strolled with deliberate flair, while Emilie continued to handle the persistent green-haired man.
"Emilie, why are you behaving this way? We met after a long time, and you're pushing me away," complained the green haired man, attempting to force himself on her. Suddenly, a glimpse of someone dancing and walking caught his attention as he walked towards him. To his surprise, he was wrong, and he abruptly changed his direction. As he refocused on Emilie.
"Darian, you're going in the wrong direction," Ebonfang said as Darian, distracted in happiness, veered left instead of proceeding straight.
Meanwhile, Emilie freed herself from the green-haired man's grasp. "Don't come close to me. I only came here to tell you one last time: don't ever contact me. This will be the last warning," Emilie replied sternly.
"Emilie, don't force me. Until now, I have only shown you my love, but if you persist in this behavior, I might show you the beast inside me" the green-haired man threatened as he advanced, attempting to catch Emilie's hand again. To his surprise, someone else stopped him—a tall man sternly holding his hand.
"Master," Emilie muttered.
"You moss head, what do you think you're doing to my maid?" Darian demanded, flicking the man's hand away.
Sliding his arm around Emilie, Darian pulled her towards him, her head resting on his chest, her face slightly blushed and nervous. Suddenly, a surge of demonic energy enveloped the surroundings, and the green-haired man's horror deepened as Emilie, who had a cold demeanor, now appeared warm and content in Darian's arms.
"You...y-you get away from her this instant or you will die!" he exclaimed furiously, his voice stammering with anger.
"Get away. She is mine. Do you understand? She is mine," Darian asserted, taking steps back with Emilie, who blushed even more.
"You bastard! How dare you!" The green-haired man shouted, ready to attack, but a silver magic circle formed, and they vanished into it, leaving him standing there like a loser.
Back in Gremory Castle in Darian room
Darian sat on the bed, perplexed by Emilie's unexpected behavior. "Why are you on your knees and crying?" he questioned.
"I'm sorry, Master Darian, for lying to you," Emilie apologized.
"It's fine. Stand up and sit here. Tell me, who was that guy?" Darian instructed, but Emilie remained kneeling, seeking punishment for her dishonesty.
Seeing her persistence, he relented, "At least tell me who he was."
"He was Leon Astaroth, the heir of the Astaroth clan," Emilie revealed.
Confused, Darian remarked, "Wait, wasn't someone named Dio the heir of Astaroth?"
"You must mean Diodara Astaroth. He's Leon's younger brother but he is not the heir," Emilie clarified.
"Wtf, why are there so many changes in this world?" Darian muttered to himself in his thoughts.
"Well then, what's the deal with this Leon Astaroth? Why is he after you?" Darian asked.
"Master Darian, he visited the Gremory family a few years ago. I was assigned to assist him around the castle, and he suddenly proposed to me. I rejected him, but he relentlessly sent love letters. Recently, he even contacted me, saying he plans to ask for my hand in marriage from Gremory family to hand me to him. That's why I went to meet him to settle the matter in silence," Emilie explained.
"He really belongs to the Astaroth clan. The whole family is filled with suckers," Darian thought to himself, realizing as one of the Astaroth is after his wife.
"Don't worry, I will deal with him when he comes. Just relax," Darian reassured Emilie, who looked at him with wide eyes.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Darian asked.
"Sorry, Master. It's just that you feel different," Emilie replied, avoiding Darian's gaze.
"Different how?" Darian insisted.
"You used to not talk to anyone and even..." Emilie hesitated.
"Even what?" Darian urged her to continue.
"Even behaving like a madman," Emilie admitted.
"Madman?" Darian mused.
"Sorry, Master," As Emilie kept apologizing.
"Emilie, can you tell me something about my past? I feel like some of my memory is missing," Darian said changing the topic, fueled by curiosity to unravel the mysteries of his own history.
"Master, should I call a doctor?" Emilie asked, ready to leave and seek medical assistance.
"No, don't do that. You said I used to behave like a madman it was because I was ill But now, I'm cured, but the only thing is some memories are missing," Darian explained, crafting excuses for the changes in his behavior.
