Marriage with the Prince of Dry lands

After Queen Xobaria had made the announcement of Aurora's wedding, she left with Jelena trailing behind her.

"Will the wedding take place today, mother!?" she asked, trying to stay a few steps behind Xobaria.

"I think I made it clear already."

"No, I mean why did this have to happen so fast? Aurora is just a child…"

She hadn't completed her sentence yet when Xobaria turned around and glared at her. "We know what is better for and what is the suitable time for it."

" Yes mother," Jelena looked down.

" Disperse the news and get everyone ready for the wedding. Send Aurora to Sylvia and tell her to get her ready the way we have told her. Make sure to cover her face behind the veil once she is ready. We do not want any bad luck." She instructed her and then left towards her room.

Jelena came back to the room where all the girls were still present but now they all were crowded around Aurora and Kiara. They were asking them countless questions about the man she was getting married to and also demanding Aurora to sing again for them. Most of the questions were being answered by Kiara instead of Aurora though.

"Girls!" Jelena clapped her hands together to get their attention. "Aurora needs to get ready for the wedding so leave her alone."

"But Ms Jelena, why is it happening so suddenly and why is Aurora being married to a...a human?" A Siren asked, her face twisted at the word 'human'. Some of them felt sorry for her while some were happy that they were going to get rid of her.

"I don't have answers to your questions. I suggest you all get ready as well because mother Xobaria woot tolerate anyone getting late. Get going now, hurry up." Jelena clapped her hands once again and in no time the room was clear except for Aurora and Kiara who were left behind.

"Aurora dear, you need to come with me." Ms Jelena told her as she gently took her hand to make her stand up.

She always had a soft corner for this little girl who may not have been able to sing well but she was always the most obedient student and always did what she was told without arguing. She was soft-spoken and well-mannered unlike many others. She had been bullied quite a lot in front of Ms Jelena and she always had sympathy for her but nothing was in her hands. It was God's will to make her different from the rest which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Ms Jelena believed that she was capable of something special just like she was.

"I will go with her." Kiara stood up as well and followed behind them to Sylvia.

Sylvia was the oldest among them, even older from mother Xobaria. She was one of the Sirens who was previously a mermaid and was bitten by Xobaria. She knew how to cook fish, how to sew clothes from flowers, vines and seashells, how to do good hairstyles and paint faces with flower paste and many more things like that. Queen Xobaria had instructed her to make a wedding dress along with a veil for Aurora many weeks earlier than the present day but of course nobody knew about it.

She lived in a cave a little far away from the stone castle. As they swam to her cave, they saw her sitting outside doing something with a fish thorn and a piece of fish net in her hands. Seeing them approaching towards her, she waved at them with a smile.

"Did you come here to see your dress? It's almost done. Just the gloves left.'' She showed them the gloves in her lap that she was making out of the fine fish net. She may have taken it from some sailor's bag.

Where the other Sirens always looked out for the men, she always looked forward to their luggage and other incredible stuff they carried around with them.

"No, we aren't here just to see. It's the day you get her ready for the ritual." Jelena informed her and the thorn pricked Sylvia's finger in sudden shock.

"What, today?!" She wiped off the blood against her tail as she shifted and immediately stood up. "Oh God, at least give me a deadline beforehand. It's too fast. There's so much left to do yet. I haven't even attached the pearls to the gloves yet." She started panicking and gathering all the stuff that had been sprawled around her before they came here.

All three of them were just floating there waiting for her to get done with her dramatic rant.

"What are you looking at? Come in!"

Jelena shifted and followed her first while Kiara and Aurora came behind.

"I know it's too sudden but it's your wedding Rory which will not happen again. Maybe all men aren't as bad as we think of them. And mother must have seen something good in him to marry you off to him. So try to smile and think about all the good things you will get to explore on the land of humans. I have heard their lives are very lively and cheerful unlike ours." Kiara was hyping her little sister up, unaware of the agenda behind her wedding.

Aurora had also decided to stay quiet and let her think so because firstly she knew if Kiara even got a hint about what was going on, she will do anything to stop this wedding and that will end up in her getting punished. Secondly, she wasn't allowed to talk about it anyways.

Now all she could do was to wait for what fate had in store for her…
