Lost

Atticus Pierre Lunear has been traveling on with his horse, he was lost from his fellow Knights. His horse had gotten tired after walking many days with no rest. Atticus found an abandoned kingdom, a wasteland. Foggy and no sign of other people. Burnt homes, the castle was broken, the sides crumbled. He decided to go to one of the homes. This home was mostly intact. He entered the home slightly unsure. He had his sword drawn, walking inside to see if anyone might be in it. It was a small home. Two straw beds near the entryway. Atticus lead Sorpheus-- his horse-- in. There was some hay in the hay crib. Sorpheus began eating the hay. Somehow there was still some enough for Sorpheus. He looked around once more and saw a table with ashes and soot. Some fruit was underneath the table. He bent down to grab one, inspecting it to see if it was okay to eat. He had a little water and used it a bit to clean it. He decided to take a bite, then hastily ate it all up, he had been starving alongside Sorpheus. Their food was slowly dwindling, he had enough for both of them but he hadn't expected to get lost from his fellow comrades. How had he  ended up in this situation? Why couldn't he have just been allowed to stay at home with his wife, Amaria. Their second child was on their way. Atticus sighed and sat on the straw bed. Taking off his armor one by one, he struggled a bit but he managed. Standing up once more, he opened the closet doors and found clothes, they were baggy, dirty and slightly ripped.

 "This will work for now."

He thought, there was nothing else to wear, he changed and he was more comfortable than he was wearing the armor. He put his armor in the closet. Sighing, he held his sword and went back to the bed, he sat down. He laid it under the pillow, it can still be seen but he can keep a hand on it whilst he sleeps. The skies were grey, but it seemed that it was just in the middle of the afternoon. Atticus rested his head on the pillow, putting his left hand underneath, holding the sword. He was facing the entry just so he can prepare if someone decided to go in and harm him or his horse.

After shutting his eyes he fell asleep
