SIGMA: The Rise of a New Era

Are you ready to embark on a new adventure to a high school campus with teen werewolves, where the competition is not between Alpha and Alpha for the territory, but an Alpha and a Sigma- or are they even competitors? David Matthew, the Alpha-in-training of the Eclipse Pack has been preparing to take over the leadership of his pack and over the disputed Crescent territory by fighting his prime enemies- the Alphas of the Orion and Moon packs. But his expectations are largely subverted when he finally comes face-to-face with the rumoured Alpha of the Moon pack for the first time, Nora Rovery. _ Nora Rovery has led a mostly secluded life uptil now- scorned by her father, disregarded by her mother and her existence largely hidden from the public eye, under a carefully-crafted web of lies. She has understandably set high hopes for her first day at the new high school- which promptly seems like a bad idea within the first thirty seconds of encountering the school bully, David Matthew. Come along on this ride with David and Nora, who are born to be enemies, but end up forging their own path, true to their rebel spirits.

Bro Code

The shock David had received after finding out that Ryan knew all about the Alpha pudding incident had made serious doubts enter his mind, and compelled him to keep an eye on the scoundrel.

But the anger Nora had ignited in his heart was enough to make him reveal her real identity in front of everyone and end this chapter for once and forever.

While he was walking out of the school premises, he barged into Henry; rather, it should be phrased as Henry suddenly and purposefully having appeared in front of him, ready to fire his questions.

"Dude! What's wrong with you? Where are you going?"

David's sullen one- word answer was not too far behind;

"Palace."

"But the class-"

This time, David responded with an attitude, clearly annoyed with Henry's objections.

"I think you have forgotten that we are in senior year, unlike Nora, Robin or Louis -"

"David? What are you talking about, I am not talking about the class you have to attend, instead I am talking about the class you have to take!

Remember, both, Mr. Nathan and Prof. Radcliffe are on leave, and you and Ryan were supposed to take the classes. I guess it is almost time for the Art, Culture and Library period.

Let's go back, or else we would be late."

Henry took a step forward, expecting David to come along, but his unbothered answer caught him off guard.

"You could take the class on my behalf, or just ask any warrior Alpha to guide the class -"

"David, what's wrong with you?

Any warrior Alpha would have been eligible to take this class if Nora had not joined the school.

Louis is older than her and is attending both the years together, so anybody could have requested him to take the lecture with the senior year and the problem would have solved; but because of Nora, I am afraid -"

"Yes! You are right! Everything is happening because of Nora! You know what, let's go for the class- but before that, you need to do me a favour."

______________

Nora entered the class and saw Louis sitting in the second row, while Robin was sitting on the second last bench as usual, leaving one vacant bench behind him. Apart from that, no other seats remained empty.

Thinking that Louis was also her friend and because of the muscle cramps that had seized her ability to move freely, she decided to sit by Louis' side.

But before she could have sat down beside him, he quietly placed a book on the vacant seat and turned away.

Even though the gesture was silent, the message was loud and clear- and Nora understood that.

The fear of Robin doing the same as well, captured her heart like an anaconda strangling its prey, and she decided to take a seat on the last vacant bench.

She made her way to the bench quietly, and sat down promptly. She was arranging her books, when she felt someone's presence by her side and heard the sound of books being tossed on the bench.

She looked up to find Robin standing there, who was about to claim the seat by her side.

"You want to sit with me?"

She posited the question with a tone of confusion and surprise.

"Does it look like I am asking your hand for a dance?"

She responded, blinking in confusion;

"No…?"

"Then why in the world do you ask these obvious questions in the first place?"

He remarked in a deadpan tone while occupying the seat. Feeling slightly embarrassed, Nora tried to answer his question.

"I was just… just thinking that you also don't want to sit with me, like… like -"

"Louis did! Nah! I don't do feelings. He does, hence he gets hurt quite easily, but I don't."

Robin finished her sentence with ease, while tagging the required explanation.

"But what did I do to hurt his feelings?"

"You should ask this question from yourself, but before that, I would suggest you do the classwork.

Because even if you are a Royal, you still have to pass the exam and classwork contains credit."

"Oh for that, I've got the answer keys right here… you want?"

"Nah! I don't take help from the enemies -"

Shaking her head, Nora interrupted his sentence to clarify things from her end.

"But Ryan is my friend-"

"Exactly! Enemy."

"Huh?"

She crooked her eyebrows this time, and looked directly in Robin's eyes. In the meantime he issued a public service announcement just for her benefit.

"And from now on, you exactly have seven minutes to complete the classwork, before next period… or else -"

"Attention, class! I am giving you ten minutes extra for completing your class work, as I have asked for permission from your Art, Culture and Library teacher for today."

Robin's words were interrupted in the middle by Ryan's sudden announcement, which not only made him look at Ryan, but he then glanced towards Louis, too.

Robin knew that he not just was enraged after seeing Ryan hugging Nora, but he was also hurt by this scene.

However, he did not know the exact reason behind it, which is why he had not told her anything specific, but briefed her about some hints.

Perhaps, Louis also had some kind of crush on her, or something… at the end, it was not his business at all. All he wanted, anyway, was to get rid of those emerald green eyes of hers from his memory.

For that purpose, he was ready to consider that his newfound bro had developed a crush on her; and the first rule of friendship was that one never thinks or talks about any personal features of their bro's girl!

______________

Louis' POV:

I was so mad at the scene which I had encountered just five minutes ago, that I knew what I did was going to hurt her- and I did it anyway.

Why was she so naive, and why couldn't she listen to me for once…? She was definitely not the type who trusted everyone easily, and David and I had tasted this experience firsthand… then why was she so different with Robin, Myron- and especially with that creep, Ryan?!

I had never imagined that my hatred for Ryan could ever outshine my love for her… after all, I was aware that I had come here for a reason, and that reason would never be fulfilled if she kept walking in the direction she had currently opted.

The most important factor in my mission was still on a pause for almost the next twenty- seven days. Because before that, she would not be able to know about her real mate; and I, in turn, wouldn't be able to do anything before that.
