It’s a start

(Konoha Year 52)

<Asuma POV>

The sun was beginning to set. I was still going at it with sweat dripping from my face, until the leaf fell again. Checking on the time, I had stuck it to my head for 53 minutes. It was great progress, 'I should be able to reach my goal within a day or two'.

I began to pick up the leaf again but I stopped when Tsunade called for me. She had helped with answering my questions but as I continued with my training she began reading what looked to be a medical book.

Lifting her head from the book, she began to say, "We'll call it a day for now. I'll take you home, be sure to visit me at noon tomorrow to continue where we left off."

I nodded and got up, I began to wipe off the sweat from my face. 'Aside from chakra control I should begin planning on what else to work on. Definitely physical exercise and taijutsu, maybe fuinjutsu, oh and becoming a sensor should be on the list."

"Ok big sis, let's get going." I answered.

As we were walking to the Sarutobi compound, I kept on thinking about what to begin training. 'Wait! Why don't I ask Tsunade, with her experience she could give me advice on how to approach my training'. I thought

'I should ask her about learning medical ninjutsu. In the mean time I'll continue working on my chakra control and begin on physical exercises and taijutsu'. I added.

"Big sis?" I asked.

"Yes Asuma, What do you need?" She said.

"Can you teach me medical ninjutsu?" I requested.

She looked at me surprisedly, "I didn't think you'd want to medic ninja."

"Well I want to be a fighter but learning to heal people could help me protect my comrades in battle." I responded.

"It's nobel of you, but being able to heal requires a lot of studying about the body. It will slow down your other training but if you really want to I'll take you in as my apprentice." She remarked.

I stopped and bowed deeply in gratitude, "Thank you, I promise to train extra hard to be good at both Sensei. I won't let you down!"

I was dropped off at the entrance to the compound. After saying goodbye I headed toward the center of the compound where my house of was located. Going inside I was greeted by Yumi, "Welcome home young master, how was day today."

"It was great. Is anyone home?" I asked.

"Yes, Lady Biwako is in her office, Lord Third is still working, and your brother Satoshi left on a mission this morning." She responded.

"I see, is there any food ready, I'm starving." I inquired.

"Yes, would you like me to serve you a plate?" She questioned.

"Yes please, leave it on the dinner table, I want to check in with mom first." I said.

I walked towards where I remembered her office being, knocking on the door before entering. She was sitting at her desk signing some papers.

"She looked up from her work, "Asuma you're back, how was your training?" She probed.

"It went well, I was able to keep the leaf on my head for 53 minutes. I also asked big sis to teach me some medical ninjutsu." I said.

"What are you doing mom?" I added.

"Me? I'm working on some clan papers. Your father called a council meeting after we went to visit Tsunade. So I had to go back and discuss something with the other clan heads."

"Oh is it important?" I tried probing for information.

"Yes, but you shouldn't worry to much. Anyways I'm going to be busy for a while, you should go eat and rest after training with Tsunade."

"Ok mom." I replied. I left her office and went to eat. I followed that by a shower, and finally hit the sheets.
