Chapter 10: Inventory

"Instructor Irish, what do you think of the current freshmen?" Instructor of the Magic Fundamentals, Alisha Mellin, looked at Instructor Irish, and asked.

Instructor Irish glanced at Instructor Alisha and calmly said. "They're definitely much better compared to last year's students, especially those 5 freshmen. Them being called as the strongest Freshmen were simply not a joke."

Instructor Alisha grin when she hears this and says, "The strongest? Do you think those five will fare better against that girl?"

Instructor Irish raised her eyebrows and pondered. "I'm not really sure, I haven't seen their full capabilities. However, if we consider the fact she was a disciple of those two, she will certainly bring down the four of them except for Ye Xuan. No matter who's her master and background is, isn't Ye Xuan the same? If we also consider the talent, Ye Xuan's talent is the same or even much better than her."

"That's quite a positive remark you have there," Instructor Alisha smirked before continuing, "I heard that girl will transfer here next week. So let's see it, if Ye Xuan is really much better just as you said."

At this moment, another white light rose from the magic circle with a manifestation in it.

"That was the last one, let's continue our talk for another time." Instructor Irish glanced at Instructor Alisha and calmly said.

"Heh, sure." After saying that, Instructor Alisha shook her head and left the room, her expression were very smug.

"Hey! What's the name of your epithet? Is it a summoner?"

"No it's not, it really looks like a summoner but the name is different?"

"So what's its name?"

"No, why should I tell you?"

"I just want to know."

"Then tell me yours first."

"I asked first, so you go firs—"

—Quiet!!!

While the students are discussing their epithet, a loud voice swept over the classroom and redirected everyone's attention to its owner.

Behind the Podium located in the front-end of the class stood Instructor Irish.

After making sure everyone was paying attention to her, she began speaking.

"You guys have already awakened your epithet, so as an Instructor, I'll give you guys some tips."

"Don't tell anyone your epithet, although you can tell anyone what profession from rpg games it resembles.

As she said that, a student raised her hand and asked her a question.

"Ma'am, why do we need to hide our epithet?"

Instructor Irish glanced at the student and said. "How do you think the Fate's Radiance awakens our epithet? It's by reading our fate. Some Epithets are linked together by fate, be it a shared fate or an opposing fate. Killing someone with an opposing fate will let them increase their strength by a huge margin."

"So to prevent indiscriminately killing, hiding the name of one's epithet became a norm."

"Another one is, if you guys have any dimensional storage, make it touch the name of your epithet."

"Any type of dimensional storage is fine, but it's much better if you guys use dimensional storage with a large space."

"Anyway, it's already late."

"So that's all, and Class dismissed!!"

As she said that, the class ended.

In the dimly lit dormitory room

The air was thick and heavy with tension as Azazel sat on the couch with his status window displayed in front of him.

Holding the dimensional ring with one hand, Azazel, carefully touched the epithet's name with it.

As the ring touched the surface of the status window, a hush fell over the room, and a soft glow enveloped the ring. His heart pounded as the ring touched the status window.

Then, all of the sudden, a burst of blinding light erupted from the status window, engulfing the room in a brilliance and so dazzling that Azazel was momentarily blinded. His breath caught in his throat as he shielded his eyes with his other hand.

'What the..... '

When the light finally subsided, leaving behind a small spots of light, Azazel blinked away the blurry vision and gazed at the status window as he noticed the change in weight in his hand. His heart sank as he realized the dimensional ring were gone, vanished without a trace.

"Where is it?"

"I should have removed the items first."

Tears began to form at the corner of his eyes and panic seized him as he frantically searched the room, searching for any sign of the dimensional ring.

But there was nothing.

As he frantically searched the room, he noticed a new word added in his status window.

Inventory

===============

Inventory? what's that?

With a thought, a new translucent screen appeared, it was composed of innumerous small boxes.

"Is this a dimensional storage? Then does that mean, the ring earlier transformed to a portable storage that I can access through the status window."

Scanning the inventory, Azazel noticed something different from some boxes.

"Huh?"

Staring at those boxes, Azazel found the treasures he lost earlier in the corner.

"What are they doing here? Did they automatically transfer here because they're inside of the ring when I used it."

"But how can I bring them out?"

Wondering how to take them out, Azazel's finger unknowingly touches the image of one of his treasures, the [Mysterious Egg].

As his finger touched the image, countless information entered his head. It tells him how to put and take items from his inventory and it's another function which is Appraisal.

Appraisal shows the information of the items in the inventory.

As his fingertip touched the image, another different translucent screen appeared, it shows the information about the [Mysterious Egg]

================

Item: Mysterious Egg

Rank: ???

Item description:

Egg of a beast. Taming the beast is also possible if hatched correctly. The beast is based on luck

How to hatch the egg:

Smear blood to it 3 times a day for 30 days.

It's preferable to use the blood of the one who will tame it.

================

'Damn.... '

It even shows the way to hatch it.

But, why is the rank is not shown? Is it because the egg is a gacha?

With a thought, Azazel brought the egg outside and put in the table nearby. Despite being as large as a human head, the egg was quite small compared to the size of a typical beast egg.

With trembling hands, Azazel made a small cut in his finger with a knife nearby and smeared the egg with his blood. The blood quickly disappeared into the egg in the blink of the eye.

'Is the blood enough?'

Azazel smeared the egg with his blood again for a few times before putting it back in the inventory.

Just as he was putting the egg back in the inventory, the smart phone in his pocket rang as a notification popped on it.

Ding—!

Touching the screen, Azazel opened the text message. As he did so, tears formed around the corner of his eyes as his lips curled up in a grin.

"I think I don't need to worry about my grades in the group assessment if she was my group member."

[Student Azazel Stardust, unranked, has been assigned to be part of the 4th Class-Alpha 10th squad.

The other members of your squad will be:

•Unranked, Sierra Flamme

•Unranked, Selene Harmonia

•Unranked, Cestia Fade

•Unranked, Kurt Zid

Remember it is essential to maintain positive relationships with your team members, as in a combat scenario, the trust and support of your comrades will be equally important to your survival as your own skills and equipment.]

"I don't know the other three but..."

All of the sudden, Azazel slapped himself in the face.

"What the hell am I talking about? I didn't become a student of Elysium just to be carried."

"Just like others, I'm here to become stronger."

"Furthermore, I already awakened my epithet so it will be much easier to achieve."

Ding—!

Right, when Azazel was talking to himself like a madman, a notification sound rang in his Smart Phone again.

[ Cestia Fade created '10th squad Group Chat' on June XX, XXXX ]

[ Cestia Fade added you to the Group ]

[Kurt Zid is typing..... ]

[Cestia Fade: Can you guys add Student Selene Harmonia here? I can't add her, I can't even find her name in the school records.]

[Kurt Zid: I can't find her name either.]

[Sierra Flamme: I'll ask the instructor what her account name is.]

==========

'Uhh, how should I reply?'

Azazel is adept at using the smartphone for various tasks, but he struggles with one aspect: replying to messages. It's not a matter of being unable to type; rather, he often finds himself at a loss for what to say. Communication isn't his strong suit after all.
