CHAPTER 4

The long sighing of the man in the car make Avery look toward him. The man glance at Avery for a while. After that he focus back to driving when the traffic light turning green. With that glance he can see Avery face clearly showing that he confuse.

The man reminded by what his policeman friend said, "Actually, there are some government homeless shelter but for them to accept her might be hard because apparently there is shortest of food supplies and bedding. There also NGO that provides shelter but if my guess right the cleanliness of it just suck."

The man burst to his friend, "So what?". He do not understand why the policeman hesitate to let Avery go to the shelter. The policeman pull the man aside from Avery. He start whisper, " when I get near the girl, she unbelievable smell good." The man of course confuse with his friend statement. "What the point?" ask the man.

The policeman so done with the man and whisper again, "that's mean, dude she is a girl. Are you that cruel to let she go to the shelters where full of sick, dirty homeless people. She also do not look like the type that can live in those shelter. In the end you still need to take her in."

The man straight away look at Avery who still look toward the two. The man then get near Avery and ask, " Do you want to follow him or me?" while point toward the policeman. Avery without hesitation point at the man. The man kinda expect it but still hoping Avery chose his friend.

The policeman angry by the fact the man try to use him as the black sheep. The policeman shout at him and drive away both the man and Avery. The shout make Avery shock and scare. The man straight away pull Avery hand out of the police station.

The man drive with silent to his house. After an hour on the road the man suddenly say, "We will arrive at my house. No one live there. I will let you live there until you find your family. But on condition you work for me. Understand?". Avery of course nod with enthusiasm.

The thought of not going back to that 'prison' make him happy. Avery know very well that the help from the man is not free. He watch a lot of drama where the characters asking for repayment after help the other. He taught himself every help he receives must be repay accordingly.

After some time, they arrive in front of a beach house. The house is quite far from the town and the residential area. The big house stood in front of Avery make him amazed of how magnificent the house look. The house remind Avery of the house in the drama he watched.

The man straight away take out the house key and immediately open the door of the house. Avery without delay follow the man leads. The man stop at the living room and look at Avery. The man need to lower his head to see Avery since Avery a lot shorter than him.

The man let Avery stay where he is while he get into the room. Few minutes later, the man get out of the room with some clothes and towel in his hand. He gives the clothes and instruct Avery to bath and change his clothes. The man point toward the bathroom.

Avery do not wonder much, he get into the bathroom and start showering. While the man waiting for Avery done with his shower. Fifteen minutes pass, Avery get out of the bathroom while frantically looking for the man. The man call his name, "Avery." made he walk toward the voice.

The man ask Avery to sit beside him as he want to talk about the 'work'. Avery listen carefully to what the man gonna say. He state directly what Avery need to do. "First, your job is to take care of this house. From it's cleanliness to security. That is the only thing you need to do."
