Hailey
I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. I could be hallucinating, but I really didn’t remember drinking any alcohol from the morning.
“Max!?” the words came out, and even my own mind told me to stop hallucinating. This has to be just a dream.
But I saw him get up and come to me, standing a few steps away from me. “Mrs. Hailey” his tone was quite warm, and not robotic.
His voice was the same, leaving goosebumps all over my body. This wasn’t possible, was it? He died, right? They even found his body and the letter--
“Woah you--” I involuntarily stopped myself from exclaiming or reacting. This was Alex’s house and this all might be some of his plans. I don’t wanna fall for any traps.
He might not be the real Max.
He sighed. “I know it is difficult to believe--”
“Who are you?” I asked straight away, cutting him in between.
I didn’t bother asking Alex, he wouldn’t reply anyway.
He let out a disappointed sigh. “Did you forget about me already?”
