The New Girl

The girls arrived at the gate of Shadow University and it was even more beautiful than they anticipated, the big buildings where nothing like the rest of the town it was like something out of Harry Potter. The Gothic style buildings were magnificent and scary at the same time, one just couldn't help but want to stare and look away at the time. Zara was sure magic was used to make it that way but why use magic to mesmerize people when they building could do that on itself, the glamour however did not work on her because even though she was not aware she had royal blood coursing through her veins. "Omg look at that, I have seen anything like it, it's like I just can't stop looking" Luna said. Zara couldn't figure out why her friend was acting strange "You must be losing your mind". They stepped into the building and were immediately greeted by a beautiful young lady although by the look in her eyes Zara had a feeling she was anything but young. "Hello ladies, my name is Princess Claire of the vampires welcome to Shadow. I'm here to escort you to your dorms" the lady said. Zara reached out her hand in greeting and she accepted it "I'm Zara and this is my best friend Luna, it's nice to you Claire".

Claire addressed Luna "aah another wolf, your brethren will be happy to be getting fresh meat after so long, just stay away from the alpha unless you want your stay here to be painful. not a threat by the way just a friendly warning, I prefer to stay out of drama" Luna shook her added in agreement.

Claire turned and looked at Zara hard, she seemed familiar somehow but she just couldn't figure out where she had met her so she asked "Have we met before?".

"Not unless you've ever been to Bourbon" She replied.

"No ,where is that? I swear you look so familiar somehow, nevermind. anyway what are you I can't seem to get a clear read of you?" Claire said.

Zara replied "I'm a witch, wait vampires can get a read on what person is? that's kinda cool, wonder why mom never told me".

"Not all vampires can read other supernatural beings, we can all tell when someone is human and obviously with the werewolves ass well but for most that's as far as it goes, the older ones can tell with almost all creatures but the royals aka me can tell all kinds of supernaturals. which is why it's kinda crazy that I can't seem to get a read on you, and you certainly don't smell like a witch in fact you don't have a scent at all it's kinda weird" Claire said.

Zara and Luna looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders, they arrived at the dorms. "Ok so you are both not assigned the same room, Luna you are on the 2nd floor I'll show you the way and you Zara are on the top floor. lucky you" she murmured

"what's so great abou the top floor" asked Luna.

Claire stopped walking and faced them "Well it's usually where the popular who's who of the shadow world stay, the rich, famous or infamous in someone's case and most influential of shadow community's children stay here on campus. not just anyone can get a room up there, so you must be pretty important to have gotten one without even a request as it may seem". Claire began walking again with the girls following behind her.

"I don't know about rich and famous but my parents are pretty influential where we live but I don't think that would count here because it is very far out of the shadow realm, I can ask the Dean why I put there" Said Zara.

"Nah that's just a waste the Dean wouldn't know anyway, he may be the Dean and control the education side of things but that's the only thing he controls. those kids have more power than him and trust me when I say you wouldn't wanna cross them". "Ok here is your room, hey Luna be make wiser choices than you did at home because this place is dangerous and yes I have seen your file". Zara and Claire walked to the top floor "Ok so here is your room, it's biometric so only you can open it for now at least" Claire said. Zara furrowed her eyebrows "What do you mean for now, it's biometric someone can't exactly steal my fingerprints".

Claire looked at her amused "Except they very well can, you didn't do a lot of research about this university or the shadow world did you? your parents did you a disservice by not telling you what to expect out here". Claire turned around and started but stopped mid step and looked at Zara "Becareful who you trust for he searches for you even now, the world you knew will soon be chaos, friends will turn to enemies and even your eyes may sometimes deceive you, the power he seeks is deep within you and with it the fate of the world rests on you,a time will come when you have to choose, your choice will determine the survival of the world". Claire then walked off like nothing ever happened, Zara stood there a little shaken remembering the dream she had of the world burning, the dire warning her mother gave her of the shadow world, the man she thought she saw on the roof earlier and lastly his eyes, she could never forget his eyes.
