CHAPTER 81 Fight Part I

Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn't mean they're lost forever

She was real, as real as they come, and I must say the 2D world didn't do her justice. To describe the beauty in front of me, I would use one word: stunning. She took my breath away.

Yes, it was her, the Ice Goddess "Esdeath," the antagonist of Akame Ga Kill.

So this wasn't a dungeon where I did a real-world jump, which also meant the system I had is more advanced than the one OG Jinwoo had.

Maybe the grace of the being who saw me in the void and sent me here.

I didn't think about Esdeath often, except during childhood itself...

But now, looking at her, I felt my heart stir. I wanted her, I wanted to possess her, make her mine. And I wanted her at any cost. And now I confirm that in the world I knew, there isn't anyone who could kill me.

"I think we should stop here," I said loudly enough for everyone to hear. As they all looked at me simultaneously, they didn't matter to me.

What mattered to me was Esdeath, as she was looking at me with interest in her eyes, which was to be expected.

"Tell me how you got here, and I will give you a swift death," the woman spoke in a raspy tone...

Her eyes were glowing eerily, and she was releasing a lot of power.

So much so that it froze not only the already icy ground but also the poor dude below her feet. The temperature around her was well below freezing.

"Would you believe me if I told you that I just woke up here? But when I saw... I don't know why, but something deep inside me asked me to free you? And it's not my dick!" I asked her in a neutral tone. Esdeath simply smirked.

"Oh... you will tell me..." Esdeath said in an eerie tone and launched several swords made of super solid ice towards me from her hands. I didn't flinch, and the swords stopped in mid-air... Esdeath was slightly surprised to see that... the swords turned towards Esdeath, and before I could launch them, they turned into mist.

"My weapons would never harm me..." Esdeath said with a grin, and blueish-black smoke started to ooze out from her hands, forming two long swords... The swords continued to ooze the ice energy, and with that, Esdeath lunged towards me... I tried to stop her, but I was quite surprised when my power didn't even affect her.

"Surprised?" Esdeath asked me when I dodged her slash... I knew that Esdeath was simply playing with me, and she also knew that I wasn't serious. She has fought her whole life. I wouldn't be surprised if her battle instincts were superior to any hunter in the world. She has been hunting dangerous beasts since she was a little brat.

"My swords are imbued with ice energy... your power of controlling things won't work on my swords any longer," Esdeath said and backed away, launching swords, spears, and axes at me. I felt like I was fighting a less arrogant Gilgamesh. I wasn't bothered by the swords as they stopped in front of me.

I was constantly controlling the flow of air, mist, and mana to shape it into an invisible barrier that breaks with every collision, but I also fix it as soon as it breaks.

I was nowhere near the level of Goldy, whose weapons launched at Mach 10, a speed that even I couldn't keep up with, even after all my boosts.

"Hoh... Space power, no, something else, maybe a barrier... I am impressed. Your powers are quite strong too... My name is Esdeath... What is your name, man?" Esdeath asked me in a proud tone.

"...Sung Jin-Woo..." I said after a small pause. Esdeath gave me a weird look... "Quite a weird name... but you are strong, so it's fine," Esdeath said with a shrug and attacked me once again. But this time, she wasn't playing and was pretty serious, if the bloodthirsty grin on her face meant anything.

I pulled out a simple sword from my inventory, and as soon as Esdeath's sword touched mine, it froze then rusted away... hmm... that's dangerous... another sword appeared in my hands, and I surrounded it with my pure mana... This time, my sword didn't rot away, and I was able to match Esdeath's blows... Esdeath was taken aback that I countered her ice energy and backed away from me a bit.

"...The power I saw... hoho... you are full of surprises, Jinwoo... tell me, Jinwoo, are you a god?" Esdeath asked me with a smile, and I could feel a small amount of respect in her voice.

"Yes... I am, in a way..." I said, and Esdeath gave me weird looks once again.

"Never heard of such a being... but you are strong, so you have my respect. But you aren't a sword fighter..." Esdeath said with a grin on her face, and I shrugged. "You said that you are going to free me... How is it? Don't tell me that it's the way you told me to stop... I will stop," Esdeath spat in clear disdain.

Well, I would also like to keep up. "No... we will do this the way of old."

"And how does that work?"

"By putting a collar with my name around your neck, Ice General!"

"Mmm... I have to say, you've got guts, and I like what you said. But do you think you have the power to do that?" she asked me in a playful yet murderous tone, with a lot more killing intent than even mine couldn't compare to.

Which made sense, as she has killed way more than I could even imagine.

Everyone was confused and shocked to not only hear this man talk to Esdeath in such a disrespectful manner but also to challenge her, no less.

"How dare you... Bastard, who do you think he is talking to like that?" growled the fat noble when he saw his chance.

Everyone barked in agreement with him. "He should be shown some man-"It's fine, old..." said Esdeath, interrupting her subordinate.

Thud!

"..."

But before she could even finish what she was saying, his head rolled on the ground. It happened so fast that only a few people were able to catch glimpses of a black Knight with something in his hands moving towards Nobel, decapitating him.

"..."

"..."

"..."

It happened so fast that people were still processing what just happened.

"Aaaaaaaa!" yelled a man, followed by the same reaction from everyone that was here.

As they knew the horror that would fall on them when they told the child emperor how the Empire's precious noble died in front of their eyes, and they couldn't stop it.

"..."

"I hate when people disturb me," I said as I lightly kicked the head, sending it hurtling through the sky, as I turned again, looking at her stoic face yet with a deep grin. "So, are we going to stop fighting now?" I asked her in a hopeful tone.

"No... the fight is just starting," Esdeath said and started to grin viciously, licking her lips in such a sexy way that I felt a part of me grow longer. I simply sighed...

Well, here goes nothing. "Kill anyone who tries to interfere with us," I said out loud, and everyone was confused for a second, but the next second my shadow moved, and soon we were surrounded by my shadows.

The appearance of black beasts shocked everyone, including her, as I saw her lick her lips again with great interest in her eyes.

Esdeath was surprised by his words until they changed to her excited look with a sadistic grin. "Really now? Very well, I will entertain you for a bit. But after I have beaten you in battle, I will be sending you to the torture room back in the Empire," she said sadistically.

Jinwoo simply chuckled at her threat as he said, "You can try." With that, Jinwoo threw a punch at Esdeath, but the ice general caught it with ease. "Now let's see," Jinwoo said before being kicked in the face and knocked to the ground on his hands and knees. "That was pathetic," Esdeath commented in dissatisfaction as she walked to the so-called god. "And I thought I would get an actual challenge," said the general as she shook her head in disappointment.

As she got close to the stranger, Jinwoo just shook his head as he muttered, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no..." Esdeath thought of this as him seeing just how strong she was and how hopeless it was for him to even try to challenge her. Now disappointed by this man, the ice general decided she would just kill him in the worst way possible for being in such a pathetic state.

As Esdeath picked up the man from the ground by his arm, Jinwoo's expression changed completely to that of boredom and interest, and he said, "Ugh, fine. My turn." With that, Jinwoo pulled his arm out of Esdeath's grip and then uppercutted her into the air. "Boom!"

Esdeath was launched into the sky until she crashed into the ground. Luckily, she used her ice powers to lessen the fall damage.

Esdeath lay there completely stunned, not only by being launched into the air by a single uppercut, but also by the fact that she was hit that easily. She didn't have much time to think about it, though, as her six senses were warning her of trouble from above, so she rolled to the side to prevent being crushed. "Bam! Boom! Crack!" She saw Jinwoo in front of her as he tried to crush the ice general. Esdeath stood up and prepared herself for battle with Jinwoo, only groaning in annoyance as he said, "Ugh, how incredibly disappointing. Come on then."

"Rise…" Esdeath said in an eerie tone and started to release her bluish-black smoke from her hands. The whole area was covered with mist, and slowly, ice figures started to rise from the ground.

And soon, an army of a thousand ice figures stood in front of me.

Now, it would have been really badass to fight against a whole army and then defeat her after that, but I simply said, "Well, if it's about an army, then let me show you 'Cerberus'."

As Jinwoo spoke those words, Cerberus opened all three of his mouths and, in the next second, he breathed a torrent of red flames out of all three heads. His flames were so hot that in just seconds, they vaporized everything in their way.

People around felt a burning sensation on their skin, while the weaker shadow soldiers just burned away before recovering again.

Soon, superhot mist surrounded the area before it froze again and fell like rocks, turning the ground icy once more. Most of Esdeath's ice soldiers were incinerated in the fire.

But she stood there like nothing happened, with the same wide grin. "I like it," she said. The next second, she disappeared and appeared in front of a three-headed hound. She then just touched him, and he was encased in solid ice.

"Could he survive this?" she asked with a curious look.

"Well, we'll soon find out."

Jinwoo had a wide smile as he said, "Let's dance, babe."

With that, two of the strongest fighters faced each other, ready to fight.

Jinwoo stood there, doing his hand gestures to have the ice general make the first move. And Esdeath did so as she ran towards the king of death at high speeds, with her rapier sword in hand. She began to slash and stab Jinwoo with her sword, and the Hunter just stood there and took it all. When the ice general was about to thrust her rapier at Jinwoo's head, he used his speed to dash out of the way towards his opponent at extreme speeds. As Jinwoo got close, he delivered a punch to the stomach, but Esdeath created ice armor to defend against the attack. However, the God of Death easily punched through the ice armor and hit the general regardless. Then, in quick succession, he launched another punch at Esdeath's face, forcing her back and into the ground. "Too slow," said Jinwoo insultingly.

Esdeath got up on her feet and charged at Jinwoo again. This time, she aimed at the god's arm and leg joints and the weak points of the body to immobilize her opponent, then kicked him a good distance away. Esdeath then summoned a hundred icicles around her. "Weissschnabel!" she yelled out as she launched all her icicles at Jinwoo. She thought the man would not be able to move after taking attacks to his weak spots. However, she was proven wrong as Jinwoo stood up like nothing happened to him and simply dashed through the wave of icicles, dodging every single one. And when he got close to the ice general, Jinwoo front kicked her a few feet. With that, the Hunter slammed the ground, creating a shockwave of fire towards the ice general and hitting her directly. As Esdeath got up on her knees, Jinwoo stood in front of her. "Are you even trying?"

Esdeath simply responded by slashing Jinwoo's legs with her rapier. This made the hunter fall onto his knees, and The ice general takes advantage of this by kneeing the stranger's head. Then she gives a couple punches to the man, ending her assault with a kick. The hunter was stunned.

She stabs him right in his heart, then her sword completely freezes his heart, stopping it from beating. But Esdeath still doesn't stop. Esdeath puts both her hands together and yells, "Grauhorn!" Esdeath fires a large spike of ice at Jinwoo, pushing him across the street and through the mountains of ice, destroying them in the process.

People were screaming and running in terror as they saw the giant ice in front of them. They knew who created the ice horn and didn't want to get involved. Esdeath walks to the very end of the ice horn and sees Jinwoo stabbed in the stomach. "I must give you credit for actually getting a hit on me, but it looks like I have won," she said with a smile on her face. But her smile faded as Jinwoo began to laugh softly. "Oh, my lady. It'll take more than that to even try to kill me," he said as he grabs the ice horn and, with his strength, destroys the horn into a million pieces. Esdeath was stunned to not only see this man shrug off a stab to the stomach but also to witness the heart-freezing attack. 

But to destroy her ice so easily, her state of stun wouldn't last long as Jinwoo punches Esdeath in the stomach, grabs her leg, and then huge stone pillars materialize in front of them. He uses her as a battering ram, ramming her from pillar to pillar while the general tries to free herself. But it is futile as Jinwoo throws her into a huge pillar of ice, then follows after her.

Jinwoo tries to punch Esdeath, but she dodges it and uses her rapier again to slash at him a couple of times. But the God of Death grabs the sword and kicks Esdeath to make her let go of it. With the sword in his hand, Jinwoo proceeds to break the sword by snapping the blade from the handle. Then he snaps the blade into four pieces and tosses them aside. "Now let's see if you're a threat without your sword," he said. "Trust me, Jinwoo. I am the strongest in the Empire. Even without my sword, I can kill you with ease," she said as she ran towards the God of Death.

Esdeath and Jinwoo begin to exchange blows with each other in close-quarters combat. Esdeath gets the most hits with her punches and kicks, but Jinwoo deals the most damage. The fistfight ends when Jinwoo uppercuts Esdeath into the air. As the ice general is flying, Jinwoo jumps towards her, grabs her, and starts punching her in the face. But Esdeath manages to free herself from the assault and uses both her feet to push the God of Death, causing him to crash land on the ground. The general uses her ice to fly in the air and summons more icicles, launching them at Jinwoo. As soon as she does, many elemental arrows appear around Jinwoo, their number surpassing a hundred.

Both attacks bombard each other, and the elemental arrows come out as superior due to their elemental properties of fire, acid, and mana. They all launch at Esdeath, who swiftly dodges them all. Esdeath then lands on the ice and places her hand on the ground, summoning big and small pillars of ice heading towards the Hunter. The pillars manage to stab Jinwoo through his arms, legs, and body. Then Esdeath uses her ice powers to summon a giant spherical mass of ice in the sky. 

"It is bigger than the entire city block, enough to destroy mountains!" Esdeath yelled as she threw the mass of ice at Jinwoo, crushing him as a result.
