Black Bear

Turning around, Sifeng could see that his pursuer is a bear.....a black bear.

But this is completely different from any bear he had seen before in his world, not even on TV show, not only is it black from head to toe, but it's twice as large as normal bear, with two black twisted horns that covered its eyes, the bear tower above him like a black giant, as it crushes every branches in its way, making his way to Sifeng.

Keeping his head as cool as ever, Sifeng started drawing the storage spell on the air with his life energy and maximum concentration. The heavy footsteps of the bear grew louder as it approach him fervently, the sound of the footsteps is enough to break his concentration but Sifeng held, knowing that he couldn't afford to lose his concentration at this moment.

A couple minutes later, the spell activated and a small shimmering golden portal appear before him, shoving his hand into the portal, he pulled out a long gleaming golden sword with its power resonating with his own life force.

'Even if you're to kill me, I must put on a fight.'

He could feel that the beast is not as powerful and dangerous as the wolf on the battlefield, so he thought he could still stand a chance against it.

As the beast closed the distance between the two and threw a bone crushing punch to his head, Sifeng shifted to the side and swing his sword in an arc motion with both hands, the sword move upward, he couldn't see it as his head is facing down while performing the motion, but he could feel the sword slicing something with no resistance, it goes through it with such ease like cutting a butter.

"Huh?"

Confused, he look up and could see that the bear's hand had been severed, it was the hand it threw a punch with, the right hand of the beast had been severed and Sifeng could see a rain of black blood flying through the air as he moves his sword backward.

"What the hell, is this how weak you're? And you've been running after me like some powerful predator."

Sifeng yell at the black bear which also had a kind of confused look on its ugly face, then hearing Sifeng's words, the confusion turned to rage. The bear let out a loud chilling roar that resounded through the forest, then it prepared itself to charge forward again, but the upper part of its body simply fell on the ground and the lower part followed.

"Idiot, you think I'm stupid like you."

Sifeng said from behind the dead beast, he had delivered a vertical slash to its tummy, slicing the bastard into two different halves.

"Is this because of the pill the chief gave me?"

He could feel his body is more agile than before, fast with ultimate flexibility, his sense of thinking also seemed to have multiply. He was surprised that the beast didn't notice him when he delivered the strike to its tummy, it's as if he was too fast.

"Now let's see if I can now control that damn power."

Focusing on his life energy, he could feel the energy slowly rising from within his soul, similar to when he's cultivating or when he's performing a spell. He started drawing the energy from within, rising from the deep abyss of his soul and when it left the abyss, finally freed from the depth of his soul, it started running wild and moving faster like it's about to explode, it's running furiously from the bottom of tummy.

Sifeng quickly break his concentration as beards of sweat could be seen running down his forehead, he fell on his knees, gasping for air.

"It's still the same, I still can't control it."

He thought he had finally got the hang of it after what happened with the chief some moments ago, although, he wasn't the one in control of his body back then, but he could see everything that happened, he had almost killed the chief back then, and if the man didn't attack him, he might have died.

"But he said consuming the damn pill will help me with controlling the energy and would also give me an increase in power, is it just for that moment?"

His body had been able to produce the elemental attack just fine, back then when the pill was consumed, not only that, but his physical prowess also increased ten fold. Although, he knew his power had also gone through some changes now, but it's nowhere near what he had felt in the training room.

Trying to focus on the energy again, he still ended up with the same result.

Controlling the elemental energy is similar to cultivating his life force and casting spells with his life force, but the difference is, instead of moving the tiny energy around his body when cultivating or moving the tiny energy in a single area when casting a spell, he would have to condense the tiny energy from the depth of his soul and move it upward towards a single area, his arm.

If the energy is not condensed, no elemental attack would be performed, it will just be like he's casting a spell. But the problem he's having is whenever the condensed energy left the depth of his soul, it would get wild from there and he won't be able to control it again, to the point that if he didn't break his concentration on it, the energy might explode turning him into a bloody pulp.

"I'll continue practicing with it, let me find a way out of a here first."

He knew he's a fool for not trying to find a way out first before anything else, but it's just the thought of controlling his elemental energy attack that has consumed him and could very be his only chance of getting out of here.

Getting on his two feet, he held his golden sword tightly and started walking towards the forest he had come from, heading towards the cave.

He didn't know how he got into the cave, maybe it's the bear that had dragged him to the cave trying to consume him for dinner or his appearance in the cave is the chief's doing and the beast had met him there by a mere coincidence.

'Ah, the only way to find out is to go back to the cave and explore it.'

He started walking towards the forest he had pass through when he was being chased by the beast, just as he was about to get to the edge of of the forest, he heard countless heavy footsteps moving towards him, the footsteps are similar to that of the black bear and they're moving at an incredibly fast pace.

"Did that cry it made attracts its brethren?"

He quickly took a few steps back, and just as he did, a bear of the same size and appearance as the one he killed lunge at him from the forest, he dived down making it flew past him, his plan was to attack it from behind but before he even had the chance to turn around, another is already coming towards him. He managed to avoid the blow but failed to notice a black fist that came from besides him, sending him away with a bone crushing punch.

But just before the punch hits him, he had followed his instinct, swinging the sword blindly to the side and beheaded the beast.

Spatting out a bloody spit, he had his left hand on the side the blow had hit him while his sword is held tightly with his right hand, he looked around and could see that he had been surrounded by the black bears, there are about fifteen of them in total, and he had luckily beheaded one, but not without paying the price of having his bone crushed.

Even if a single strike from his sword could kill them, if a vital area is hit, the fifteen of them would be difficult to handle, not even after his bone had been crushed.

'Am I really going to die here?'

'Did it all end here?'
