Shade -Shop of the night (On Hiatus)

Akirai had been "Unique" ever since she was a child- Orphan, unwanted, stubborn- a street rat. But Akirai became "Unique" in another way after she died in an unfortunate hiking accident, a landslide- there was nothing to be done. But of course Akirai´s stubborn self didn´t let it end there.

Hiking

Akirai Fang, 19 years of age, female, and now unfortunatly dead- had lived a rather... interesting life.

Her parents hadn´t wanted her, she´d been a drunken accident, and they´d told her as such up until the point that they´d given her up to an orphanage "To be rid of a usless burden" they´d said.

She´d never been one to stay in one place for too long, preferring to go out camping or hiking, rather than being in a home without love or an already overfilled orphanage, so she grew up roaming the streets and forests at night and was called a street rat more than a few times, and Akirai, ever the spitefull one, had risen to the challenge, stealing from people who annoyed her and doing with them as she liked.

She nearly got caught at the start, but thanks to her parents, she´d had more than enough expertise in running and hiding, along with her nimble fingers, she nearly always escaped, and soon, got good enough that no one noticed her stealing from them.

She had lived her life more out in the wild than in the city, so had very little patience for stupid people, being stupid in the wild would get you killed after all.

She´d lived her live at the edge, always on the move, and she´d loved every second of it, she´d gone to school and graduated with honors, sure, but she could never settle into a job, so she worked on a pay per day basis- mostly hunting or catching animals to sell.

Akirai had expected to die from an animal attack or the like, but she´d suprisingly been caught in a landslide as she was on her way back to town to escape the storm that had been building up for a while- the weather forcast had said nothing and she was in too deep to escape before the storm truly hit, thus sadly succumbing to the elements.

Akirai had held on- having send out a distress signal to a few of her acquaintances as soon as she noted that she´d likely not be able to get out of the forest, and she´d clung to life to the best of her abillity, she´d never been afraid of death, but that didn´t mean that she was chasing it.

Sadly, they hadn´t made it in time, and thus her life ended prematuraly.

------------------

Akirai woke slowly, feeling the feeling return to her limbs slowly but surely and wracked her brain as to what was going on- her thoughts were dragged into two different directions and it was giving her a headache- she tried to reorganize her thoughts and remember what had happened, since she didn´t remember renting a hotel room, or even making it back to the city, so she was puzzled as to why she was in a bed instead of a tent or in a tree.

Then she remembered and placed a hand to her forehead groaning as two different sets of memories battled it out in her head, both wanting to be remembered first making them mix together into a confusing mess before one set won and she remembered a life she´d never lived.

The girl whose memories she was viewing was also called Akirai, but her last name was Feith, an odd name for sure, she too was an orphan- her parents rather neglectfull while alive, but succumbing to a fire when she was 17.

She´d been there, seen their corpses and smelt the burned flesh, and it had haunted her nightmares, someone had set the apartment building on fire as revenge on their neighbour next door, the fire had consumed the whole building and killed 8 people- the owner of the memories had clung from the building to escape the raging flames and escaped with her life, at the cost of both her hands and half her face as they were now covered in light scar-tissue and due to their death she´d inherited their small pet-shop.

It had originally been left to her cousin, but half a year ago, he´d given her the deed to the building- stating it to be a lost cause and left.

Leaving her with the buildings deed, the bills and in debt, oh how she´d cursed him to high heavens and low hells.

It hadn´t helped and the numbers just climed higher and higher no matter what she tried- the girl was desperate, and started to get hooked on drugs and gambling to forget her problems.

Recently she had hit the jackpot and won back enough to cover the debt and bills- she´d debated on wether to spend the money on drugs or to pay the debt off, under the assumption she´d wake the next day, she´d taken a dose of drugs and gone to bed.

But in her place Akirai awoke, and offered with a second chance, she wouldn´t let herself be in debt or drug addicted- no matter what.

She sat up with one large groan and cracked her neck to get the stiffness out as she planned on what to do.

This world- and yes she´d landed in another world after dying, ain´t that something- was different from hers as people could cultivate here with the help of Battle Beasts, or just Beasts as people liked to call them- of course the store she´d gotten was also focused on cultivating these creatures- although it wasn´t in use right now due to the owners inabillity to manage it.

She rubbed her eyes and got up, frowning because of the clothes this body owned- too girlish and far too revealing for her tastes.

She sighed and got the least revealing clothes she owned, a T-shirt with slight... cleavage and a pair of skinny jeans far too skinny to be comfortable, she threw a jacket over and headed to the bank, card in hand.

She got lost twice and took far too long to understand the technology of this new world- she thought she´d have to talk to someone to manage her debt payment, but in this world she just had to send the money to the company she now, thanks to her asshole cousin, owed money too and she´d be done with it- she payed it all in one go, interest included and googled where the shop she now owned was.

"Really?" She rose a brow as she walked back to her flat, turns out the shop was in another, lower ranked city.

5 years ago rifts opened all over this world, releasing Beasts onto the world, people figured out they could tame them and get stronger with them, so soon humanity as a whole was able to manage the invasion of beasts, but not without a price, as there were large areas full of beasts and fallout from the war that was waged on this planet.

Her parents had owned a normal pet shop before the rifts appeared, and had tried to continue their buissness even after the rifts opened, going with the trend, as had her cousin, but neither had the talent, or so it seemed, and as the Beasts were rather new, then and now, the market was flooded with Beasts shops- making their buissness go under.

This planet evolved- fused together with the rifts the Beasts came out from and the palnet grew tenfold- so at least half the planet was under the reighn of Beasts and other creatures- citys had ranks thanks to this, to measure their safety, the city she was in now was close to the capital of Lathera- one of the eight lands of men- the capital was ranked A- , wich meant it was as safe as it could get, as the city she resided in was near the capital, it scored a D+, the pet store was located in a city with a rating of F.

The scale went from A to H, A being the safest humanyity could manage, to H being towns barely hanging on by a thread.

A normal, low income family could at most afford to live in a E ranked city, the only reason she lived in this city was due to her scamming this flat out of a millionar on one of her lucky gambling streaks.

Although the new Akirai had no intentions to remain in this city- she loved the nature, and having a Beast companion sounded just like something she would do, but she was conflicted as to what to do, she had no idea how to manage a shop, although she was willing to try.

She had always lived her life dancing on the edge of a blade, so, here she was, sitting on the bed in her new flat and planning her next course of action in a new world.
