Challenge (Part 2)

The monster continued to attack. When Nicola moved away to keep the distance, the hydra conjured elemental attacks from the earth and rocks below them like spikes and spears, even sending boulders towards him.

In a unique opportunity caused by a flaw on its movements, he managed to attack the hydra and activate his requiem attack against it, which caused some damage to his defense but it was not much.

The effects of the attack daggers overlapped, sending burns, corrosion, cuts, shocks and perforations inside the hydra's body which groaned in fury and attacked Nicola more aggressively.

Nicola did not come out unscathed, while defending himself he used his tails, which often received bites and stings, some were even covered in blood and some pieces were missing, that damage had forced Nicola to activate the sin of gluttony, which make him covered in a dark orange hue and burned his big energy reserves to increase cell regeneration and restore the tails and body.

His attacks were imbued with reinforcement with the sin of wrath and became stronger, even auxiliary sins powers such as envy and lust were activated by increasing his mental power to the maximum, analyzing strategy and looking for weaknesses in the hydra.

He had not summoned Tuatha to fight alongside him because he also wanted to test his personal power. Nicola did not like to depend on other people and doing things alone was more like his thing, besides it was a great way to exercise his own skills. A strategy was slowly forming in his head as he attacked the hydra.

Its exceptional scale defense could not be invaded by brute force or the elements powers alone, and if Nicola were to use his strongest attack ability every time he would be out of mana before the end of the battle.

'Sin Fox Song Style, second attack form, Sonata'

This attack used only the two offensive daggers to hit with maximum damage with a fully targeted attack. The two daggers made a quick and repetitive sound, almost like a violin that played quickly until it reached its destination. Nicola developed this attack aiming at the speed they could reach and the maximum damage without having to spend a lot of their mana reserves, the two attacks exploded in speed to give a dangerous cut to the enemy.

Nicola had taken advantage of the moment that the hydra tried to bite him to send the two attacks inside the mouths of two heads that came towards him, the attack crossed the roof of the hydras' mouth and directly killed those two heads that fell on the soft ground.

'Even the most powerful defense would be nothing if someone attacked from the inside.' Nicola thought while walking away from the enemy.

Nicola was not an example of pure brute force, but his agility coupled with his high intellect and great knowledge of strategy made him a problematic enemy to deal with.

The hydra went into a rage when she saw the two dead heads on the ground, its eyes shot up with blood and turned red, the five remain heads hissed loudly while making threats to Nicola.

For a hydra race there was an inherent pride on their heads, just as for a fox race where the tails were the source of their pride. If they were killed or teared apart it would be a big blow to the hydra.

The monster went into berserker mode. And ran towards Nicola with his heavy body, with no time to react, Nicola had to receive the attack head on. So, for the first time, he was forced to use a defense technique that he developed beforehand.
