Audrey returned home, exhausted. Once in, she scanned the house, checking if anything was out of place.
Upon noticing that everything seemed intact, she heaved a deep sigh of relief.
She then hastily sat down on the couch, her mind still racing with the thoughts of the danger she had faced.
Just then, the door opened and her parents walked in, their faces etched with fatigue.
"Mom! Dad! You guys are home!" Right after she saw them, she immediately rushed to them to give her a hug, catching her mom off guard and gasping in surprise, while her father gave her a puzzled look as if she had lost her mind.
"Oh, honey. Yes, we are back. Are you alright?" Her mother's expression softened, her honeysuckle voice bringing Audrey some warmth, making her hug her mother even tighter.
"Did something happen? Are you okay, honey?" her mother asked, concern laced in her words.
