Prologue

A man dressed in a white suit walked down Main street, seemingly oblivious to everything around him. No one said anything to him. No one noticed him. But he was there. He took his watch from his pocket. "Perfect timing." He said. He smiled. And at that moment, the lamps that were lining the street began to glow. And time seemed to slow down. "Ahh, I love this time of day."

And explosions began to go off everywhere in the city. "Yes. I do believe this is the best time to die." The man turned towards the explosions. Many people were running towards him, trying to get away from the newest explosion only a block away. "Keep calm, my children. it will all be over soon." The man raised his arms, freezing the nearest runners where they stood. "Why don't you relax?" And the explosion engulfed them all.

After a while, the explosions stopped. the entire city had been destroyed. The man in the white suit stood where he had been before, calm and unmoving. "And so, one down. Three to go."

He walked to where the edge of the city used to be, and whistled. A black stagecoach built itself from the ground up and he climbed in. "Where to, Ethen?" the driver asked.

"To the Beginning, Herald." Ethen replied.
