CHAPTER 8

“Like seriously, how about if we are to have a family dinner and we are to be seen together, what must be done then.?” Elena asked

“We will look for and excuse then or probably pretend that we are together. In fact, when we reach that bridge we will surely cross it.” Harrison added.

“Okay, fine” Elena said

“DEAL” Harrison said

“DEAL” Elena replied.

“That’s good then.” Harrison said and started the ignition of the car and headed the way home in silent.

**** Elena’s P.O.V ****

The next Morning, I was still asleep when James came to wake me up from my slumber.

“Elena, wake up, wake up right away now.” James said as he shake me off the bed to wake up.

“No James, can you give a little time to sleep more.” I pleaded with sleepy eyes.

“No I won’t because you have slept enough already.” James said.

“Okay, fine.” I said and stood then went to the bathroom to freshen up.

After I was done freshening up, I prepared myself and went downstairs.

“Hey, James aren’t you going to work huh..??” I asked

“Nope, I’m not” He answered.

“Okay then, suit yourself” I said and went to the kitchen to grab a bite of French toast and orange juice for breakfast.

Suddenly, it went down on me that I haven’t called any of my friends today. I quickly dialed Gracie’s digits and it rang and she picked up the call.

ON PHONE

# “Hello girl, how are you doing today?” I asked her.

# “Hey babe, I’m fine thank you” She replied

# “What are you doing right now” I asked

# “Why don’t change the call to a video call for you to see that huh” Gracie suggested

I agreed to that and changed the call to a video call and I saw my friends Mia, Trisha and Gracie with a guy I kinda don’t know of with them”

# “Heyyy Elena sweetie” Mia and Trisha said at the same time.

# “Hey darlings, how are you girls doing today huh ?” I asked excitedly

# “We are cool and having our day with Dave here.” Trisha said and move to video to the face of the dude with them.

# “Hello Elena, nice to see you.” Dave said smiling.

# “Where are you at the moment huh?” Gracie suddenly asked.

# “I am having my breakfast with this dude here” I said and moved the camera to where James was eating at the dining table.

# “Hello” James said waving at them over the phone.

# “Hello James” the girls and Dave greeted waving to him as well. The girls were giggling seeing James and I’m sure Gracie will be blushing as well.

# “Okay, enough of the long talks, how was your yester-day?” The girls suddenly ask

# “It was horrible though” I replied

# “Why do you say that?” Gracie asked feeling concern

# “Okay, I just hope you won’t be surprised or shocked of what I’m about to tell you.” I said to them

# “Okay girl, just spit it out” Trisha said getting impatient.

# “Last night, we had dinner and our dinner was about uhhmmm….” I was giving them the suspense they deserve and it was getting intense that Mia couldn’t take it anymore.

# “Elennaa, don’t give me a heart attack. JUST SPIT OUT” Mia yelled over the phone and we all gave a shout laugh afterwards.

# “Okay, I AM GETTING MARRIED” I hit the bomb.

# “WHAT !!! wait WHEN??” They all chorused together.

# “Are you serious Elena?” Trisha asked

# “I hope you’re joking right.” Dave said

# “I just wished all you asking are true but unfortunately it is the opposite because I am truly getting soon.” I replied

# “ Like seriously?” Mia asked

# “Yeah, Elena is truly getting married” James added.

# “But wait a sec, Elena are you kinda pregnant or something. Please don’t get mad at me. I’m just asking to be sure.” Gracie asking feelings worried.

# “No, I’m not pregnant. It was just an arranged marriage between both families .” I answered.

# “Oh my G!!! but is the guy cute, nice or lovely?” Mia asked

# “Miaaa… The other girls shouted at Mia over the phone and she only giggle.”

# “Well, the guy is Cute I must say but Lovely and Nice is not what I’m gonna say at the moment. But, I found he is James friend and business partner.” I replied

# “Okay, it’s fine then. We all wish you all the best sweetie.” Gracie said

# “Thanks. I gotta go now” I said to them.

# “Okay, bye dear” they said and James waved back at them smiling

# “Bye” I replied and hang up the phone.

Phewww… I exhaled.

Never knew I was holding my breath this while ... oh gosh.

**** Harrison P.O.V ****

I walked around the Park with Claire and I told her that I’m getting married and all she said was okay because she knew that I was just using her for her father’s partnership with my company and that’s all nothing else. She thinks that I love her by giving her this little attention she demands but hell no I don’t, because she’s quite annoying.

“Hey darling, can you help me to clean the ice cream on my lips huh?” She asked seductively.

“No, wipe it yourself” I said less concerned

“But, I…I can’t get my hands to wipe it off because it’s already occupied.” She said

“So, do you expect me to lick it off for you huh?” I asked

“Yep.” She nodded.

“Then, you must be day dreaming to think of that Claire.” I said and walked ahead of her.

“Heyyy honey, when are we going to see our parents huh?” Claire asked while walking towards me to meet my pace.

“Excuse you Claire, didn’t you hear me earlier telling you that I’m getting married pretty soon huh.?” I asked shocked at her question.

“Yeah, I heard you right.. But, I thought you were talking about you and I. We need to make our relationship official you know.” Claire said.

“We can’t Claire. My father only agreed for us to be business partners and not the other way round you know.” I said to her.

“I know but we need to tell them that we love each other and nothing can stop us.” She said positively.
