The morning before the assassination attempt, Emma had woken up in a bad mood.
Her thoughts were with Max, but the fact that she couldn't confront him in fear that he would end things with her only pissed her more.
She had left her bedroom and got in the bathroom to brush her teeth, before joining her parents in the dining hall for breakfast.
Getting there, she met her mother looking as pale as a sheet of paper, while her dad looked concerned for her wife.
"She's fine, honey." She heard her father whisper to her mother, and the woman nodded her head as she stared up at her.
Standing up from her seat, Emma walked up to the woman and hugged her shoulder before asking if everything was alright.
As if possessed, the woman grabbed both her hands. "Baby, can you not go anywhere today?" She asked.
Emma looked confused.
She has work today and most importantly a meeting in the afternoon.
"What happened, mom?" She asked worriedly.
