I Have a Problem

20XX, October XX; Home

So I have a problem here. The school was actually going to have a day trip next weekend and I have to ask for parent's permission to join. And I was just scolded by dad last night because of the cat and me staying late in the park. Will he allow me to spend time outside now?

It's not like I like to join the school trip because it's fun and everything. Just that, it will be another legit reason I can spend time outside the house.

I want a break from taking care of Eli and I wanna try spending a weekend outside. Maybe tomorrow he'll have a better mood, then I'll ask.

It's Thursday today. I can still ask tomorrow for dad's signature in case he's still mad but it's better to pass the permission slip today so the teacher won't bother me anymore.

But when I woke up, dad has already left for work with Eli in tow. I have to go to school now so I'll just ask later tonight.

Night time now, I got home on time so dad won't be mad at me again because of that but when I passed by the park, that cat was there. I didn't notice it at first but then it scratched my leg then just ran off. Stupid cat!

Anyway, I got my permission slip signed by dad. I stil got home early then cooked dinner and, when he and Eli got home, I stayed quiet.

After dinner, here's our dialogue.

Me: Hey, dad.

Dad: Hmm.. Have Eli go to sleep. I still have a few reports to read. (while watching news on TV)

Me: Well, there's this thing at school next week and I need your permission.

Dad (turning to face me): What is it?

Me: The school trip next weekend. My teacher was asking me if I have your permission for me to join.

Dad (frowning now): When did they tell you? Why didn't tell me immediately that your teacher has to ask you personally?

Me (bowing slightly): Just yesterday and I was asked today.

Then he told me to pass him the slip and he signed! I know I lied a little that the teacher asked me personally but it will make dad sign faster. At least tomorrow I won't be bothered by the teacher about this.

I probably won't be able to write again after this. Looks like they haven't caught the murderer yet.
