SCP: The Unforseen Variable (Old)

Murrey, finds himself in a new world made of laws he dosen’t understand. Find as he grows his organization creates a religion and tries to prepare for the end of everything. This book is being rebooted because I screwed up some plot points that I can’t fix aside from rewriting it all. So I’m doing a reboot. If you wanna get a sneak peek into what the reboots plot is gonna be later down the line I guess you can read this. I wouldn’t because it would make the pay offs less impactful, but you do you. Permission was given to me by Duy Giang to use his art for the cover go check him out. They’ve made some of the coolest and quality art related to SCP on a visual level and is one of the reasons I wanted to make this book

Overestimation

The transfer of the people to Site-19 was seemless and accident free. After sending everyone that I didn't mark as a spy through the way the soys looked at each other confused and I said. "Did you really think I wouldn't be able to tell your spys." They tensed up at that as the one I now identified as their leader spoke. "You fucked up our plans to take over. You killed our boss, and now we're going to kill you!" Looking at the guy as he was being an idiot I realized I might've overeetimated them. As there was only about 12 of them remaining. There were about 6 of them that I hypnotised when they came to meet me, but thats still a really small number for a hostile takeover. Espicially considering that there were still a-lot of loyalists.

I killed the guy wilth a gunshot to the face as the Librarians that I detected a while back came over for clean up. Seeing a bunch of people gang up on me they yelled.

"NO FIGHTING IN THE LIBRARY"

Anf proceeded to hurl a book that implanted itself into a womans skull. An octopus like creature slingshot itself fowards as it grabbed another two spys by their necks and started strangling them. A tree looking creature shot off multiple spiked branches off itself injuring 4 as they crumpled to the ground. Deciding to let the Librarians handle this I watched.

A humanoid creature in a suit but with a supended blue hand as a head did fingerguns abd shot another 2 spys with lasers evaporating them. The last 2 spys tried to run, but I ended it with 2 well placed shots. I waved to the Librarians as they gave me a nod back as theg started cleaning up abd diemantling the fortifications the Serpents Hand cell made.

While walking to the next settlement I finally ackknowledged the (Quest)s I had completed.

(Quest: When Freedom Rings)

Monarchisms tyrannical reign has been brought over to the realm of the Wanderer's Library. This is the supposed land of Knowledge and Discovery yet they have tainted its land with their oprrseive rule. But the people under aren't to blame and if one must rule. The Library would want it to be you. Become the leader of the Hand cell.

(Rewards)

-1 Small Military Instillation summon to be used in Wanderers Library (not the one your taking over)

-1000 points

Getting a fallback base to recuperate or put reserve troops into would be great as if Site-19 dies so does my foothold in the world.

(Quest: Counterintelligence)

Some chucklefucks have decided to be w nusciance with your soon to be people. You cannot stand for this as it would lower their faith in your leadership damaging their opinion. This cannot stand either destroy them or convert them for the benefit of yourself.

(Rewards)

-Classified Underground Intelligence agency (Medium)

-1000 points

Although I could've converted them they were at most tier 2 infiltrators. Nothing special and not worth the time. Though getting a free 1000 points is always nice. I was still wondering why I was getting so many points recently. Then it hit me this is a game system, and games always give you tons of loot before a bossfight. The only question was is it gojng to be against me or my facility.

Despite that worrying revelation I put Site-19s safety up another notch on the priority bar.

As I was walking to the 4th Hand cell I wondered what approach I wanted to it simple as I had enough scheming for the day and wanted something simple. As I walked for 9 hours using time manipulation to prevent physical and mental exhaustion to continue my reading of Time and You Vol:ll I got about halfway before I noticed a guard. Walking straight to them without them noticing I was there towering above them I asked. "Who is your leader." As they felt the full effects of my aura and geard my voice they toppled over falling onto the ground. Looking up at me they grew even more terrified.

Wanting to destress through theroughly scaring the fuck out of this man I said. "A poor display of a soon to be dead man. If he dosen't give me the answeres I want." I got that I was basically torturing the poor sod, but I was sick of planning, playing (and writing) intrigue with a bunch of random people justvto get the best results. Boring holes through the man turned boy he shakily replied,

"a-a-llo-w me to t-ake you-u m-y-y l-o-ord."

The guard said barely able to collect himself. I stared and waited for him to get moving further scaring him. The Library in response of watching my interaction sent amusement through my connection to it.

It took him 30 more seconds to actually move. In no small part because of me staring lifelessly right into his eyes. As the sobbing mess tumbled forward increasing my travel time by 40 minuites. When we finally made it to the camp of what I estimated to be 80 people my "escort" ran to what I assumed was his tent and everyone inside could hear pained wails. Now feeling a little bad I made a note to give him a pill of SCP-500. The guards previously very suspicious of me grew more trusting after feeling my un-supressed aura.

This indicated to me that they were at least somewhat in tune with the Serpent or Library. As what I assumed an authority figure approached me they gestured to sit ar one of the empty tables and asked. "What does the Keeper of the Library require."

I easily responded with, "the Serpent has tasked me with uniting the Hand cells." I revealed causing gasps to be had around the camp.

"I am sorry Keeper, but we must require some form of proof for such a claim." They said trying not to insult me

To which I then handed my Library cars but kept it facedown. Getting the message their hands never flipped the card but was jnstewd astobished as the map zoomed in onto the camp I was currently in and showed a figure of the cells leader holding the card. He then announced, "only the Serpent would know all these locations." He supplied to the whole camp. "We shall follow you in unification."

After giving the Hand members time to pack up I ended up Waying them all back to Site-19

Scenes where I had to fight for leadership or play into the role of a religious figure became commonplace to the point that I had the (system) grant me a new tab

(Notification)

Unlocked system function (Religion)

Aside from that I had upgraded my (Prescience) skill to (5/5) due to me finishing the Time and You book saga. Turns out when you walk for hundreds of kilometres on end you get alot of time to read. I'm also convinced that the Library is preventing me from using the Way as there is no way I'm just always in a reality anchor.
