'I never expected that Scarlette Overland would have connections with Silveria Empire's Emperor itself and from her statements alone, it's likely that the Emperor suddenly adopted Scarlette Overland as his daughter for protection.'

This is something that Ryan could relate to Scarlette, to some extent.

Because no matter how powerful Scarlette Overland was, in the face of someone who had much power and authority, she wouldn't be able to stand a chance and would likely be someone else's steppingstone.

Scarlette noticed how Ryan became gloomy because of her statement, and she had an inkling idea what he's thinking.

'Since his situation is almost similar to mine…'

The crimson-haired woman didn't want this conversation to be taken any longer and divert the conversation into something else since it wasn't her obligation to explain any further.

'And besides, I don't trust him that much especially if "Ryan Wayne" was sent by [that person] then… Tsk! How troublesome…'

Although she shouldn't have invited this young gentleman with her, Scarlette wasn't going to let this person go and leave him to just roam around within the Empire.

"It seems like my name has been also spread outside of the empire since you have heard about me. Even though you didn't recognize me at first glance when you approached me first."

As soon as Scarlette mentioned about what happened back at the guild, Ryan immediately blushed in embarrassment because of the crimson-haired woman reminded him once more about his idiocy back then.

"I am sorry, okay! No need to remind me of that embarrassing moment that I got back in the guild!"

Ryan exclaims as he cupped his cheeks to hide but Scarlette just chuckled at the man's behavior, but only on the surface since the crimson-haired woman's eyes darkened even more the way she observed this young gentleman with her right now.

Ryan thought; 'I was mesmerized when I first saw her appearance. Her crimson-lilac eyes when looking into it, it feels like you have been hypnotized by its unique color— wait a minute?! D-did I thought about that?! Seriously?!'

While Ryan was still lost in his own thoughts, Scarlette, on the other hand, still couldn't help but think about Ryan's sudden appearance in this place, especially within this land.

'What are you doing in here, anyway? In Silveria Empire, on top of that? Is it just a coincidence that you just approach me back at the guild or do you want something from me? Or have you discovered something that you need to approach me and faint innocent that you haven't recognized me back then?'

Scarlette thought as her crimson-lilac eyes darkened while observing the young gentleman with her and the crimson-haired woman is almost thankful that Ryan didn't look at her side so the man wouldn't see her killing intent gaze right now.

'If I had caught you doing something that would impact me, especially if [that person] you're working for has something to do with me then, just be prepared for the consequences of your action and don't blame me for taking actions against you. Even if we knew each other in the past…'

After 20 minutes had passed, the line outside of the entrance gate had finally decreased and after that, Scarlette moved the wagon towards the entrance gate as she followed the line, just like how the others did.

The guard from earlier assisted them and got their identification cards back to them and they finally entered the city.

As they entered the city gate, Scarlette pulled over the wagon at the side, away from the entrance of the city gate since she didn't to cause any disturbances for others and after she had settled the wagon down at the side, Scarlette looked at Ryan who was sitting beside her.

"Just stay here. Get some rest and I'll be back."

After she said that, Scarlette jumped off the wagon and check everything if she had missed anything and when she thought that she had everything with her, she left Ryan without waiting for the other man to respond and Ryan just sighed when he noticed Scarlette's silhouette had faded within the crowd before he could speak.

'Geez! That woman…'

Ryan thought and sighed once more as he felt exhausted not only from his previous "sparring match" with the crimson-haired woman, but also dealing with Scarlette's unusual behavior or her way of socializing.

'Sometimes, I think that Scarlette is most likely allergic to people or something along with those lines, for what I observed about her. I can only imagine if others would become Scarlette's companion, they would likely be exhausted as well, just like me…'

As he thought about that, Ryan snapped from those insignificant thoughts of his and just take a rest inside the wagon and waited for Scarlette, just like what the crimson-haired woman told him to stay here and rest.

Although he didn't suffer that much, his body had strained because of that intense battle from yesterday's fight against Scarlette and some of his bruises and slight wounds haven't healed that much.

However, he didn't have the time to rest that much when he felt an incoming attack from behind and took his sword as he immediately jumped off the wagon and….

*BOOM!

The wagon burst into pieces because of the unknown attack and Ryan was thankful enough that their supplies are within the dimensional pouch that he had and even Scarlette had hers as well and they divided the supplies he had purchased with each other for backups, in case something happened.

Cases like this, for example.

Ryan, for a moment, suddenly felt irritated because of this sudden attack and it happened inside the city gates!

'Okay, just who the f*cking hell b*stard dared to attack him in broad daylight?! Does that person have no shame at all?!'

If it this were from before, Ryan wouldn't have hesitated to shed blood as he felt the need to execute someone who dared to attack him underhandedly!

However, since he wasn't alone in this journey and particularly, Scarlette Overland isn't just any ordinary companion of him as the crimson-haired woman had a reputation on her own and Ryan wasn't that of a scumbag to drag the innocent crimson-haired woman on his problem.
