(7) Father's decision

+++++REIKA'S POV+++++

It was the weekend and I was walking more like skipping through the compound with a basket full of fresh peaches that I got from granny momo

I then went to Tamaki's house returning a book I borrowed the other day

"Tamaki!" I called out, knocking on the door.

Just then the door opened "Kon'nichiwa Kireina-chan, what are you doing here so early?"

"good morning Mrs. Mitsuri, is Tamaki home? I have a book she let me borrow" I said holding out said book

"She's still sleeping but I will give it to her" she said taking it

"Arigatō" I said

"no problem, have a nice day" she waved as I skipped off

I walked back home, sliding the door open, setting my basket down and taking off my shoes. then walked into the kitchen "momma "I'm home, and I have fresh fruit" I said as I bit into a peach "I may or may have ate some" I said innocently to myself, walking off to my room, biting into a peach

LATER

I was in my room changed into something casual, I changed out of my silk red kimono and into something more casual, a purple T-shirt with the Uchiha crest on it and white shorts then grabbed my bag and headed to the park to meet up with my friends

When I got there nothing was out of the ordinary that pineapple is lazing around with Tamaki sitting next to him, Mikasa came up from and spooked the bluette Shika kept that unchanged, lazy expression on his face. I let out a small snort of amusement.

"hey, Kirie-chan"

"Reika-chan didn't see you there, hey."

"hey, where Choji didn't he say he would be here?" I asked no one in particular

"hey everyone, sorry I'm late" a voice called, We turned toward from where the voice came from to see a brown haired chubby boy with a bag of potato chips in his hand standing there with a smile

"hey choji we were wondering when you'd show your potato chip stuffed face" Mikasa teased

"your mean Mika-chan" he pouted

"well, we Uchihas could be very straightforward if we want to be" I commented with a Cheshire grin

"straightforward? rriiight. If that's what you call it" Tamaki slyly said

Mika and I let out a small chuckle while the others gave a deadpan look at us

"cheer up" I said with a cheeky smile, waving my hand in a 'no big deal' wave

"You two are something" Tamaki teased with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face, shaking her head slightly in an amused way

"We're Uchiha, what ya think" Maka and I said in unison, with a little smile

========SMALL TIME SKIP=======

"you called papa" I said peaking from behind the door

my father gave a slight nod and motion for me to sit down "I've deiced, you'll be the next heir of the clan if Itachi fails me"

"what about Nii-chan, he's older isn't he?!" I questioned with a thoughtful expression

"Sasuke a bit...slow to learn" he simply said I pouted 'how can he just dismiss Nii-chan; he super strong too. I want to be that strong too'

"but he's smart and cool and the most awesomest big brother-" I said my thoughts out loud "-why do you hate Nii-chan? did he something bad, huh?" I quizzically asked, verbalizing my thoughts out loud

he didn't answer my previous question and only shifted his eye ever so slightly, continuing

"why me?" I said tilting my head "and what's a hair, isn't it the thing mommy combs through?" I said to mostly to myself myself

"no heir, it means you'll be my successor. If Itachi were to fail at his duties then you'll be next in line to be clan head" he explains

"do I still get to be a ninja?" I questioned, 'I want to be the best and help tons of peoples. yeah' ironically I never performed medical ninjutsu or any type of ninjutsu myself, I only watch Mrs. Mitsuri preform a few medical ninjustu tricks

he held a thoughtful look for a couple minutes

"am I?" I said with more force in my voice, which only made my father shoot a disapproving glare towards me which only made me flinch a bit as sweat dropped "Gomen'nasai" I muttered

'I'm not taking a no, I will become the best kunoichi' she though with deterioration fill her eyes 'I don't care who they are, I will be the best and no one is gonna stop me.' I mentally pumped my fist in determination

I sent my own determined glare right back at him I don't care what he thinks, like I said I'm not taking no for an answer. What could you say I'm a stubborn Uchiha.

I think he finally gave-to our little staring contest cause then he said, begrudgingly might I add "hn, I suppose" my lips twitch into a happy grin "but-" oh not this cant be good the but isn't usually a good sign oh no "-only if you keep up on your studies I expect you to become a dignified lady of this clan"

"yes sir!" I gave a mocking salute he glared an annoyed glare towards me, but I didn't care because I'm gonna be a ninja, someone who help peoples. I failed to hide my enthusiasm

"that's all, your dismissed"

I nodded and got up "I'll show everyone that I'm more than at first glance, I'll become strong too" I proclaimed as my footsteps faded away from the room
