(4) New friends

KIREINA's POV

Itachi had brought me and Sasuke to park where most of the kids in Konoha played at. There weren't that many kids, and those who were here were already grouped up. Sasuke, seeming too cool just stood off on his own. Knowing he'd say no to us playing, I walked off on my own in this new area. There was a sandbox that children my age were messing up, throwing sand everywhere, including their own eyes. Rolling my eyes, I continues to wander.

SASUKE POV

My thoughts were interrupted at the sound of light footsteps. Looking up from the ground, I saw Kiri walking off. My brotherly senses began to tingle, sensing that something just wasn't right even though nothing had happened. I just couldn't shake off this unnerving feeling that was settling in my stomach, like a coming storm.

REI POV

I wasn't paying attention to where my feet were taking me, barely sensing the exhaustion my body was in from my uphill climb. I was knocked out of the quietness when I heard a deep yawn. A boy with hair shaped like a pineapple was snoozing under a tree, his hands propping up his head.

His eyes slowly opened, having heard my heavy footsteps. He hummed and looked up at me blankly with his eyes that resembled chocolate. " Uhm, uh- I didn't mean to wake you, sorry." I muttered ,bowing my head like Kaa-San had taught me "Who are you?" I questioned, curious about the odd looking boy.

He snorted, his look now sterner. "Ugh, my name is-"

"Shika! I found ya! you own me you big lug" a voice shouted. The next thing I know I'm being tackled to the ground

"Tamaki....get off her," Shikamaru said with a bit of shock and surprise in his voice

The girl glanced down at me, scratching her neck bit sheepishly "oh, sorry, I didn't mean to-"

"No harm no fowl. Thwat what I always say" I waved off, dusting myself off

The two chuckles lightly "I'm Tamaki and that's Nara Shikamaru" the girl, Tamaki introduces herself and the pineapple haired kid "sorry for trampling you, honest"

"Nice to meet ya, I'm Kireina" I said back, sitting next to the Nara male

"Sorry about that," the blue haired girl said "really-"

"no need to apoluwguize" I said waving my hand in front of me with sweat drop from my forehead

"you see I was trying to sneak up on his lazy butt she said," kicking the Nara, who seemed un-bothered by it.

I sweat dropped a bit at the awkward interaction of the two.

"so anyway whatta doin'? can I join ya?" I said nonchalantly, sitting beside the two

"Sure. Shika here was just watching the cloud as I was just keeping him some company" She explained

But before I could reply Sasuke came running up to us "Kireina what the heck I've been looking for you everywhere." Sasuke-nii scolded "You had me worried"

"Gomen'nasai nii-chan (sorry big brother.)" I glancing down

"It's ok, just tell me or nii-san before you go wander off by yourself he reassured anyways it's time to go." he said

"Already?!" I whined, cooking my head up

"well maybe you guys could come over and play sometime" I said to the two

"yeah, that would be awesome, yeah." Tamaki stated

"yeah and-uh.....hey!" exclaimed

"C'mon Rei-Rei" he said lifting me up "Put me down Sasay" I whined, pounding as hard as I could, which wasn't that hard cause I was like three or so

"We have no time for one of your tangents, nii-san's waiting for us" Sasuke simply said as he started to walk away with me hosted on his shoulder 'you better not drop me.'

I pouted. Turning to my friends "I guess this means bye since my brother decided to kidnap me" I teased "bye Shiki, Ki-Ki" I waved with a closed-eyed smile as we walked away.

I was watching my older brother, Itachi train as he threw some shurikens at targets placed around the clearing. Hitting every single one. I poked my head out from behind a tree that was not far from the clearing he was training in

".....Itachi Nii-chan (big brother) your so awesome"Kirena Cheered and ran up to her big brother, suddenly getting a small poke on her forehead. She looked up to see Itachi smiling a closed-eyes smile at her and rubs where he poked her "What was that for, big brother?" she quizzically asked

"hm, cause I love you Rei-Rei" he smiled

"of course you do Onii-chan(eldest brother)" she giggled "because you're my Onii-san, Onii-san," she said tilting her head and flashed an innocent smile.

The elder sibling bent down and ruffled her hair. " can you teach me?" she said with admiration and stars in her eyes

Smiling and said "maybe when you're older. Now c'mon let's go pick up Sasuke from the academy, shall we."

"Aye," she cheered. "I can't wait to become a ninja so you and nii-chan can show me all those cool moves and- Ooh can you teach me the clan jutsu? Please?" she asks with puppy dog eyes

Itachi chuckles and ruffled her hair once more "maybe when your bit older" he said, poking her forehead and smiled

"Yeah" she cheered, pumping her fist in the air happily

"cool so this is the academy, there are so many kids," Kireina said in awe and fascination as she and Itachi waiting for Sasuke outside the building.

"Where's nii-san, I don't see him. she said gazing around the courtyard.

"Wait there he is. "Nii-Chan, nii-Chan," She said, spotting him by one of the beaches talking to some other kids.

Waving her arm in the air trying to get her brother's attention. he glanced up and spotted her and Itachi standing there saying farewell to the small crowd and headed over to the other two siblings.

"Mama, Papa." Kireina called out, sliding the door open, then removing her sandals, placing them in their spot. "-We're home" Mikoto and Fugaku were in the was kitchen "Mama, guess what! I made a new fwiend! But Sasu-Nii took me away!" The look of confusion morphed on her face, staring at her son as she consoled Kireina.

Sasuke sweat dropped. "Now, now Kiri. If Sasuke hadn't then Okāsan and Otōsan would've been mad we were home late." Itachi said, from behind them.

"Why do you always have to 'wuin my fun 'Tachi" She whines, pouting her pale cheeks. Itachi poked her cheek, making Kireina squeal and run away.
