Chapter 71

Seemed like the construction business wasn’t done with him, after all.

At the window, Liam frowned and traced a finger across the glass, through the thin coat of dust. He wrote Kieran’s name inside a heart.

“I’m sorry I didn’t call last night. I came home real late.” Kieran sounded tense. “I didn’t wake you, did I?”

Liam sat on the couch, bracing himself for what was to come. “You sound a little tense. Everything all right?”

“I need to talk to you, Liam.” Kieran was quiet for a moment. “This isn’t gonna be easy.”
