Chapter 63

“Nothing?”

“Yeah…for threewhole months.”

“Whoa.” Liam cracked a grin. “Shit.”

“Yeah, but it’s almost okay now. The last time Mitch stayed for dinner, she passed him the carrots.”

“Well, that’s tremendous of her.”

“Liam, she’s trying.”

“I know and you’re right.”

A faint smile turned up on Will’s lips. “I love him, you know. I really do. Always have. Of course, he doesn’t wanna hear about it, but I know he loves me, too.”

“Give him some time. If he’s the Mitchell I remember, you have nothing to worry about.”

“What do you mean?”

Liam squeezed Will’s shoulder, and pulled away, heading for his truck. “Trust me,” he said without looking back. “It was something in his smile after he’d spent the night cooped up in your bedroom. A smile like that doesn’t come easy. Believe me, I know.”

Will waved at him from the lawn. “I love you, Liam.”
