Chapter 16

“I never had a dog,” Kieran said, looking up with quiet contentment painted on his young face. “I wish I had.”

I’m gonna fall in love with him.

In three, two…one.

“Do you want something to drink?” Liam asked, his voice husky with tenderness.

“Thanks.”

“Well, I’m gonna hit the shower, so make yourself at home. There’s some juice and filtered water in the fridge.”

“Juice…okay.” Kieran smiled and continued petting the dog.

Liam managed to get up the stairs without coming apart with desire. He shut the bathroom door and leaned up against it. “I want him I want him I want him,” he chanted quietly.

Time for a cold shower.

In the living room, Liam found Kieran horsing around with Faulkner.

There were also an open Budweiser on the table. Liam frowned. The bottle was almost empty. “I don’t think you should be drinking.”

“Why not?” Kieran looked up from the floor where he was kneeling and wrestling the dog. “I’m twenty. Way past the legal age.”
