Uzushiogakure: The Fall (P.4)

I should not make a move but… such glorious specimens!… no no that's how Orochimaru got his start. I might actually be worse than him, at least he wants to get immortality. I'm just curious how these things evolved. The clones are humans so it should be wrong to experiment on them, but this world messes with you. I'm becoming weirdly comfortable with the idea of messing with humans let alone these clones. Might be a warning sign.

Anyways I got back to viewing the battle.

All of the minor villages ninja forces were wiped out. What remained was mostly comprised of Kiri ninja. Nawakis clone died but Mira and Kenzoramas clone have led to the enemy forces being left with a little less then 4,000 troops. Unfortunately despite their best efforts only 50 clones were left. This doesn't seem right though… Ohhhh that's why.

Meanwhile at the allied forces main camp.

Omi was leading the forces of Kumogakure. Shuichi, the wielder of Shibuki, was leading the forces of Kirigakure. Iwagakure was being led by Guki. Finally Sunagakure was being led by Akiro.

The only shinobi of note here today was Shuichi. As the wielder of the blast sword he was the most important jonin to his village compared to those present. His only goal here today was to take any Uzumaki Fuinjutsu he could get his hand on. Particularly he wanted anything regarding explosive tags.

The other villages were clearly pursuing their own goals too. Iwagakure was primarily here to ste— justly procure the Uzumaki information on jinchuriki. Kumogakure was only here for the Uzumaki themselves. Their obsession with bloodlines made Kirigakure wary of them. Sunagakure was actually only here to steal any wealth they could.

The alliance was held together by benefits as most things are but no one truly trusted one another. While they declared claim to certain benefits beforehand who knew what they really wanted.

" I would like to lay claim to the woman known as Mira, I am willing to give additional benefits for the right."

" For enough money I don't mind."

" Looking at our losses you'll have to make due with the corpse of the woman."

" I hate to say it but Guki is right. At this rate if it wasn't for my Kiri ninja we would have actually been defeated today."

Looking at the battlefield Omi couldn't really argue with them, so he made a decision. He signaled Akiro who soon stood next to him and then spoke.

" Yes that is true. Kumogakure and Sunagakure thank you for your assistance in our endeavors today. As a gesture of goodwill we will repectfully return your corpses to your village. Well Iwa's anyways."

" Ahh taking a page out of Iwagakures book are we now Omi? After years of fighting with them did you really think we wouldn't be prepared for something like this."

" That hurts Shuichi. We're nothing like these amateurs. How about we clear the field and let just the grown ups play?"

As soon as they clashed a new set of armies appeared in the surroundings. Iwagakure had a fresh set of 7,500 troops. Kirigakure's numbers were unknown as they deployed their hidden mist jutsu. I counted 3,000 thanks to the Byakugan though. Sunagakure and Kumogakure arrived together with a combined 10,000 troops.

As I was sitting on this tree overlooking the field while eating my delicious dango, I could only think "That damn old lady!".

I knew now why I was sent here. Honestly I thought she was trying to kill me with whatever thing she set up in Uzushiogakure. I refuse to believe someone who could see the future would easily be taken advantage of. I'm pretty sure it was some barrier formation that could incinerate all these assholes. Now it seems the death traps really not for me.

I had forgotten that politics in the shinobi world was a constant set of deadly betrayals led by the notion they could be the ones to bring peace to the world. Nothing but a bunch of hypocritical dumb dumbs. These damn idiots couldn't even make this siege happen properly. The remaining 50 clones stayed put inside Uzu as the three way battle outside took place. Literally just deal with the main enemy first before anything else dumb dumbs! It was literally laid out on a silver platter for you!

Its not to say I didn't have a few surprises while watching the battle. The Kirigakure ninja were truly far more fearsome than I thought. It made sense though, I mean half of the stand out ninja they have go rouge and are some of the most fearsome ninja in the bingo book. They were pure assassins. Every kill made was clean and silent, nothing but a series of ambushes.

Iwagakure was what you would expect of a military nation. They seemed to have no fear of death as long as they completed their orders. Even their battle tactics were organized and structured. They immediately used earth release ninjutsu to set up defensive walls and fought by moving like a cohesive unit. It was like prepping yourself with a sword and shield while the other guy decided to fight you from the safety of a tank.

Sunagakure was straight up bullshit. The reality was clone jutsu were actually not commonly used in battle. It was more of a life saving technique unlike what Naruto would have you believe. I mean what idiot would split their chakra to a clone in battle, let alone war.

Which is why Sunagakures puppets were a low key cheat. Instant increase in numbers. Not to mention the puppeteers were protected by users of wind release jutsu. Unlike Narutos flashy use, they relied on the invisible nature of wind release. Avoiding invisible knives was not exactly easy, include sandstorms and a mass of puppet attacks, and it was quite deadly.

Kumogakure was the only real oddity in this bunch. At first I thought I was watching kamikaze Samurai fight, not ninja. Of all the groups they clearly held back against Uzushiogakure in the earlier battle. They primarily relied on kenjutsu, disgustingly powerful kenjutsu. Using lightning release gave them monstrous reaction speeds and Cloud-Style Kenjutsu complimented it perfectly. If their close combat could be defined as annoying then their ranged combat was not any better. Being smitten by lightning was as fun as that sounded. They clearly focused on their offensive prowess.

Overall I realized why Konoha played such a scared game of politics instead of just declaring war. It's not that Konoha wanted peace, they needed peace.

Unlike the other major villages that rely on a centralized style of combat and specialize in a nature release. Konoha from the so called land of Fire didn't actually specialize in Fire jutsu.

Konoha was more of an amalgamation of several clans that largely used their own familial styles. They had a military structure and tactics sure, but techniques tended to be unique to specific clans. Outside of those clans it's general population of shinobi rarely stood out. Hell even the clans tended to rely on genius standouts instead of cumulative power.

In the overall grand scheme of things I would say the real contenders for world domination were Kumogakure and Iwagakure. At least since after this upcoming war Kirigakure would experience a lot of their own nonsense.

As I sit around lost in my thoughts the battle seems to be leveling out.

Sunagakure seems to be on the losing end. The nail that sticks out gets nailed down. Kirigakure was relying on hit and run tactics to attack them and was being really successful.

Iwagakure was relying on their fort but just like Suna, they stuck out so they got nailed down. Kumogakure was straight up just running a blitz on Iwa and it was working. With the addition of Kiri splitting focus and picking off stragglers Iwa was really struggling.

Kumogakure in particular was deadly against Iwagakure. Earth justu was weak to lightning jutsu as it was apparently a conductor due to the impurities in the earth. Scientifically this was right but visually hard to accept. It just made me feel like something was wrong.

Kumogakure was actually being the smartest as while everyone was focused on each other, they actually rushed the remaining Uzu defenders.

This was a grand screw up.

Another blinding white light appeared in front of me for the second time today. This time though I could see an explosion spreading and taking the shape of a mushroom cloud within the light. Thank heavens for my Byakugan or I wouldn't have noticed.

With a flash I disappeared.

This old lady was crazy. She sealed a freaking tailed beast ball of all things and more than one…

Maybe she really is trying to kill me!

Rens Databook will go more into the countries power rankings and it’ll help elaborate as to why I wrote the chapter this way. I will say from the get go Konoha is kind of trash though.
