Yeah! Here's the new chapter!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After my back hit the statue I fell heavily to the floor, feeling pain go through my entire body, even with my tough physique and my high pain tolerance.

"Urgh" knowing I couldn't sit still I sat up disoriented, clutching my side in pain.

'Damn... The damn Basilisk pretended he was helpless and unconscious... He even resisted my potion' I thought, feeling that I had probably broken something, 'Not even my senses could detect that he was still a threat, damn cunning snake'

Still a little dizzy and in pain, I looked down at the damp floor of the chamber, and I saw a shadow towering over me.

I then lifted my head, still a little confused and dizzy, but then I realized I had my eyes open.

Only I'd noticed it too late, and now I was staring into a pair of deadly glowing yellow eyes.

'Fuck' was the only thing I could think of.

I felt a strange sensation go through my body as I looked into the Basilisk's eyes, and unconsciously I turned on my Magic Vision.

...

...

...

"Huh?" I said intelligently, as confused as the basilisk itself, realizing that I was alive and feeling that I could still move my body, 'Has the Basilisk's gaze no effect on me?' I wondered, but I didn't have time to think of an answer as the Basilisk recovered from its shock and attacked me.

Acting on sheer instinct, I threw myself to the side, narrowly avoiding the Basilisk's fangs, which dripped with its venom.

But before I could react, I felt my senses alert me, and looking to the side I saw the snake's tail approaching me quickly.

'Shit' I thought, looking at the giant tail getting closer and closer.

My instincts continued to warn me of danger, and I could feel my body's magic reacting strongly, as if it was begging to get out.

And unconsciously I released this magic, and it was at that moment that the tail hit me.

But to my surprise, the tail passed me without causing me any harm, and the reason for that was because my whole body had turned to mist.

"What?" I said uncomprehendingly as my body reformed, "I did it" I muttered, surprised and excited.

And in my moment of joy the Basilisk wasted no time and attacked me again, only this time I was paying attention and dodged its tail.

"This is getting annoying already," I said, crouching and jumping backwards, while launching a [Bombarda] at the tail that was relentlessly targeting me.

The spell didn't do any damage to the snake's tail, but it was enough to slow it down.

I then began to cast a series of destructive spells, while using wandless magic to transfigure the floor and walls of the chamber, as well as the rocks of the destroyed statues.

Waiting for the snake to attack me again, I glared at it, and when it turned towards me and attacked me trying to bite me, I caused several spears to appear from the floor, but the snake broke most of them and kept coming at me.

"§Stupid snake§" I scoffed, and then I raised my arms and lowered them, causing several transfigured stones to be thrown at the snake.

The Basilisk continued to resist, but I noticed that it was a little slower than before, and feeling the snake's magic I could tell it was weakening. Noticing this, I realized that the potion was still in the snake's system, and that the potion's effects were only reaching Basilisk now.

"Heh" I smiled, pulling two more vials out of my pocket, grateful that my pockets had protection spells.

Throwing the vials at the Basilisk's face, I cast a spell turning the potion into gas, and swinging my hand I cast the most potent sonorus spell I knew, with a lot of magic on the roosters.

*SOUNDS OF ROOSTERS CROWING!*

The Basilisk then started thrashing again, only I had learned from my earlier mistake, and so I kept attacking the snake with many spells, while at the same time moving the gas to its face so that it would inhale all the potion.

"[Bombarda Maxima]!" I exclaimed, pointing to one of the walls, feeling the water behind it.

When my spell hit the wall a large crack appeared, and a large jet of water came out of the crack.

Using my control of elemental spells, I moved the water up to the Basilisk's body, and I knew that even with the force of the water the Basilisk would not suffer any noticeable damage, so I froze the water.

The frozen water managed to slow the desperate, out-of-control snake even further, and along with the combo of crowing roosters, my potion, and my nonstop attacks, the snake began to tire.

And I could see that after receiving so many attacks, the snake's skin started to take some damage in some places, and I took the opportunity to attack those places.

With more and more cuts and wounds appearing on Basilisk's body, I realized it was time to end this confrontation. I then levitated a large sharp rock, and with a powerful spell of repulsion and weight, I hurled the rock at the weakest point of most snakes, which is at the back of their necks.

"§SSSSSS!§" the Basilisk screamed in desperation, with the stone piercing through it, effectively immobilizing its lower body.

"Time to end this," I said, using [Accio] to summon my dagger.

"§I'm sorry but you're too dangerous to be left alive§" I said to the Basilisk with regret in my tone.

The snake continued to wail in pain, growing weaker and sleepier, but I strengthened my conviction, and using one last spell I threw the dagger between the snake's eyes.

I then saw the dagger flying, as if everything was in slow motion, before it hit and plunged into the center of the Basilisk's head, and the snake let out one last scream before falling heavily to the floor, its body remaining still and its breath ceasing.

This time, I knew the Basilisk was truly dead, as even its magic was no longer reacting, slowly leaking from its dead body.

Taking one last look at the Basilisk's body, and even using some detection and analysis spells, I confirmed the creature's death, and with that I let out a weary sigh.

Casting a spell to seal the crack on the wall and canceling the sonorus spell on the roosters, I walked backwards until I touched the feet of the gigantic statue of Salazar, where I leaned back, sliding slowly to the floor, where I sat.

I was tired both mentally and physically, and now that I knew the worst was over, I could finally breathe a sigh of relief.

I then closed my eyes, and using my magic I inspected my body, seeing all the damage this fight had done to me.

"Yeah... I'm pretty sure I broke something," I muttered, groaning painfully. I then looked at the dead Basilisk on the damp floor, seeing all the damage I had done to him.

"But well... The others should see what I did to the other guy" I said, chuckling to myself, "Urgh" but as soon as I laughed I had to hold my side in pain.

"Damn… I don't think my regeneration will heal a broken rib… And I don't even want to imagine the questions Madam Pomfrey will ask me when she sees me like this," I said with a frown.

Leaning my head against the cool wall behind me, I closed my eyes, breathing slowly.

"At least now I have one less problem to solve" I said to myself, "But this is still a simple problem in the grand scheme of problems in this messed up world... Sigh"

...

...

...

After I rested a bit and let my regeneration heal some of my wounds, I cast some healing spells on myself while drinking some potions I had prepared in advance.

When I felt I was well enough to walk, I walked over to the Basilisk's body, taking a good look at the creature.

"If you weren't such a mad and bloodthirsty creature," I muttered, approaching him and looking at him sadly.

I then shook my head, knowing now was not the time or place to be sad.

Approaching the snake's head, I saw my dagger plunged deep into the Basilisk's head. I then gripped the dagger's hilt, and using a little force, pulled it out.

The dagger was dripping blood, but since I hadn't hit the Basilisk's poison pouch but his brain, I still had to dip the blade in its poison.

Using wandless magic to flip the Basilisk, I opened its mouth, and being very careful not to touch any prey, I stabbed the roof of the snake's mouth.

From the place where I stuck the dagger a green liquid began to ooze, and I could feel the danger coming from that liquid.

I then saw the liquid run down to the dagger's hilt, but before the poison could be wasted I took a large vial that I had prepared earlier, and placing it under the dagger I let the poison drain out.

After waiting a few minutes, the poison stopped flowing, and the vial was filled with the poison.

Putting the vial away and casting a potent cleaning spell on the dagger, I removed it from the Basilisk's mouth.

Looking at the dagger I could now feel the silver's magic reacting, absorbing the poison, making the blade much more dangerous than it was before.

"Perfect," I said, a small smile on my face. I then tucked the dagger into the sheath on my wrist, and removed my suitcase from the chain around my neck.

Opening the suitcase into a large secure compartment, I began to levitate the Basilisk's body into the compartment.

'I may be sad that I killed the Basilisk, but I won't be stupid to leave the body of such an amazing creature with so many good materials in this place to rot and go to waste' I thought, 'I know hard times are ahead, and these materials can help me when that time comes... And even though I don't know if the whole body will be of use to me, with some research I know I will find a good use for the snake's remains'

After putting away Basilisk's entire body, I closed my suitcase and put it back on the chain around my neck.

With everything finalized, I looked around surveying the chamber, seeing all the damage this battle had done to the place.

"I bet our dear Salazar must be turning over in his coffin." I commented amusedly.

"I don't know what would piss him off more... The fact that a muggleborn entered his secret chamber and destroyed a part of it, or that the same muggleborn killed his precious pet."

I then shrugged, and raised my arm, looking at ATLAS.

"ATLAS, Myrtle's Bathroom" I told my bracelet that glowed with my command. I then placed my hand on the floor, and the center stone of the bracelet glowed blue, before a black ink dripped from the stone, down my hand and onto the floor.

The paint on the floor then began to move, forming a few drawings, until in the end it became a map that showed the second-floor girls' bathroom.

"Fortunately the person closest to the bathroom is many runners away" I sighed in relief, "ATLAS, Cancel" I said, and the stone glowed blue and red before the map on the floor disappeared.

"Well, now I just need to change and clean up, and then I can go to the hospital wing with some lie about me having an accident experimenting with potions," I muttered, casting a cleaning spell on myself.

'Good thing I have my suitcase here with me' I thought, walking towards the chamber entrance, heading towards the tunnels to go back to Myrtle's bathroom.

'When I'm less tired and bruised I'll come back to explore this chamber'

End.

(End AN: In these last three months I've found a lot of good fanfics to read, and I'm amazed at how good these new writers are.

I confess that when I read some fanfics on this site, I start to realize that my story is not that good, but I feel that I am improving with the passage of time.

And what do you think? From the first chapter to the current chapters, do you think my writing and grammar have improved? What about the plot and character development of my fanfic?)
