As Marcel held his mother's hand, she started coughing causing him to look worriedly at her.

"My son, I have some requests," she said, shaking Marcel's hand, "I want you to live your life with no regrets. I want you to be happy, maybe get a girl and have a family, venture into world, or do something that makes you happy"

"Yes mom, I promise" Marcel said crying and smiling at his mother.

"I also want you to promise me that you won't go looking for your father, and that you won't try to do anything to him either." Isabell said, taking Marcel by surprise.

"Mom..." Marcel started to say but was interrupted by Isabell.

"Marcel, please promise me. He doesn't deserve your time, and I don't want you to destroy your life seeking revenge or justice... I want you to live a peaceful and happy life... You promise me, my son" she asked, looking at him calmly with her eyes filled with tenderness.

...

...

"Yes mom, I promise you" Marcel said with a forced smile and tears on his face.

"Good" his mother said smiling. She then began to slowly close her eyes, "Marcel, no matter what you did or do, I will always be your mother... And know that I love you my son"

"I love you too mom..." Marcel said between his sobs, closing his eyes and holding Isabell's hand against his forehead.

And I, who was looking at Isabell saw her open a slight smile, with her breathing slowing, until she stopped breathing and I couldn't hear her heartbeat anymore.

Marcel who was still holding her hand felt his hands go limp, and he didn't look up because he knew what that meant.

Looking at this scene I felt my cheek get wet, and running my hand over it I realized I was crying.

I didn't know what to think or how to react, it all happened so suddenly that I didn't know if I should feel sorry for Marcel, or if I should be angry at the shitty life they both had.

'Damn' I thought, looking at the floor and letting my tears fall.

After about 20 minutes with Marcel on his knees holding his mother's hand and crying, I saw him get up.

He looked at his mother and bent down to kiss her forehead, looking at her with a slight smile.

"Thanks for everything mom... I love you" he said, taking his wand from its holster.

He then started to leave the house, and after I took one last look at Isabell, I followed.

Arriving outside the house, to my surprise, Marcel used a spell to set the house on fire, but unlike an ordinary fire, this fire was pure white and didn't seem to be hot, as I could feel and looking at the grass around us I saw that the fire wasn't burning anything alive either.

"Now you're free mom... I hope you're happy in heaven" he said, looking at the ash that flew towards the starry sky.

Marcel then looked up with a slight smile on his face, wiping away his tears, clasping his hands in prayer.

"I never prayed for you, or even believed in your existence, but please, if anyone is up there, take care of my mother... She didn't deserve the life she had, she's a good person... So please God take care of her for me" Marcel said.

After finishing his prayer, Marcel took one last look at the house.

He then turned around, and started to walk away from the house covered in white flames.

I also prayed for Isabell, wishing she had a good life in her next reincarnation.

Finishing praying I quickly followed Marcel, and I saw that he was clenching his hands into a tight fist.

Turning to look at him I saw that Marcel had his hair covering his face, but I could still see the look of hate and anger he had, and I'd never seen someone with such a hateful look in their eyes before.

'I'll make you pay Sebastian... You and all your family' Marcel thought.

The memory I was in began to crumble into mist, and I knew I was going to another memory.

In this new memory Marcel was bent over a table jotting something down on a parchment. Looking around I saw that we were back in his lab.

But the memories kept passing, with one showing Marcel arriving at the lab with a cage of rats, another showing him casting spells on a target.

Each memory showed Marcel busy with his projects, until finally a different memory appeared.

This time we were on a trail in a forest, and I didn't understand why he had come here.

But all the pieces fell into place when I saw that there was a ward in front of us.

Marcel then took from his pocket a vial of blood and a compass, and by the vial of blood I understood what he was doing.

'So he's finally going to take revenge on the Greengrass' I thought, looking at Marcel who was putting the compass on the floor in front of him.

The compass then blinked for a few moments before a hole formed in the ward in front of Marcel.

He passed the ward and I could see that on the other side of it was a big fancy mansion, with a huge garden with some harmless magical creatures strolling through it.

But after going through that ward, another ward was waiting for us, but to my confusion Marcel walked through it calmly.

"Which?" I asked myself, approaching the ward and studying her, "Is this a recognition ward? How did he get past it?" I wondered, but I didn't have much time to think as Marcel was making his way through the garden towards the mansion.

Upon reaching the doorway, Marcel cast a Disillusionment Charm and another spell that allowed him to pass through the door as a ghost.

After entering the mansion, he used his Magic Insight to search for the Greengrass family, and he found it, seeing more than a dozen magical signatures in the room, and wasting no time he making his way there.

-Greengrass Manor - Living room-

"Congratulations son, your proposal being accepted by Wizengamot makes you one step closer to winning the position of Chief Warlock" a lady in her 70s with blonde hair and almond eyes said to a man also with blonde hair and eyes green.

"Thank you mom, and with that our family is one step closer to becoming the most influential family among Sacred Twenty-Eight" the man said with a happy but calm smile on his face.

He then hugged a woman who was beside him and ruffled the hair of a little boy who was between them.

"And that's thanks to you too," he said, kissing the forehead of the woman who was supposed to be his wife.

"No, this is all your own effort" the woman said, but the man tried to deny it.

"Oh, just accept the compliments already, we're here to celebrate your success, not to listen to your thousand words of love" an old man said in mock disdain, with a proud look looking at the blond man.

Those in the room laughed at the blond man who was looking away in embarrassment.

But that moment was interrupted by the sound of clapping.

*Clap! Clap! Clap!*

"Amazing! What an exciting moment!" Marcel said, canceling the Disillusionment Charm, drawing the attention of the family, who turned in surprise in his direction.

"Who are you?! How did you get in here?!" the blond man questioned, standing up with his wand in hand pointing at Marcel, placing his son and wife behind him, and meanwhile the rest of the family also pulled out their wands.

Marcel, hearing this, smirked at him.

End.

And yes, my music playlist is confusing, I can start with Imagine Dragons and end up listening to Katy Perry.)
