C22- New Job

After walking around the temple searching for anything of value, Mazs was disappointed apart from the Soul Gem and some coins he couldn't find anything that would make the group forget about the Soul Gem, he wanted to use the Soul Gem for his purpose, he would have been happier if Kimiko had not followed him.

"Guess I will have to sell it to the Necromancer Guild, they will pay a lot for it, on the bright side if I get to sell it we could leave for weeks without endangering our lives" Mazs mummed to himself, although it hurt him to sell something so rare like a Soul Gem he had no other chose.

He could have used the Gem in crafting a new weapon, maybe if he was lucky enough he could get a Soul weapon, he sat close to the temple waiting for his team, and after waiting for a while he could see his team they walked into the temple looking surprised.

Mazs took the opportunity to address everything he found inside the Temple. "I found a Soul Gem and a treasure chest filled with coins, I think the villagers are the ones responsible for the chest probably paying the Wechuge for reasons I don't know.

So we have two options, first, do we return the money to the villagers, or do we take the chest and disappear before the remaining villagers wake up" Mazs said as he sat down beside the Temple, Mose and the other didn't even give it a second thought before they made their decision.

"Dre died for the villagers and that's enough, we will take the chest and leave immediately" Mose replied

The Bloodhood Adventuring team gathered every valuable item they could find inside the Temple, afterward they left the almost destroyed village.

Back inside the Adventure's Guild Mazs told the story differently, leaving the part where they almost destroyed the village and finding anything of value, he made the story portray them as the saints who had saved a village from evil, they continued to drink as many other Upcoming Guild came to them for advice, Kimiko was drinking away her sadness, and she wasn't the only one, after losing a teammate for the first time, they all felt sad while Mazs was going around drinking merrily without a hint of sadness on his face the others were having a secret meeting.

"I am leaving the Guild, have had enough," Bella said with a straight face, the others couldn't convince her otherwise because they had the same feeling, they wanted to leave the Guild.

"I know how you feel Bella but you have to wait a little longer" Amocni replied, he could feel the other's eyes penetrating his skin so he continued "Right now, our Guild fame is at the Highest and sooner or later we will receive a job that will bring in a lot of Gold coins and after that mission, we can all go our separate ways and not to mention Mazs still have to find a buyer for the Soul Gem.

Then after that even if we quit adventuring as a whole our life is already set, we would have more money than some of the Barons in this kingdom, all we have to do is wait" Amocni drank all the mead in his cup in one go.

They partied all night, enjoying the feeling of being famous, Mazs left the Adventures Guild before anyone the next day, the others were still fighting hangovers, Amocni sneaked out of the inn they rented, and after walking for a while he saw Mazs standing beside a Shop that deals in the buying and selling of Rare Gem.

He decided to sneak up on Mazs before he could touch Mazs, Amocni felt a sharp object pointing at his neck, "Dude it's me" Amocni said as Mazs withdrew his sword from entering Amocni's neck.

"You know I don't like it when someone sneaks up on me" Mazs didn't say anything more than that as he focused on the Lady apprising the Soul Gem, the lady was using some strange tool, seeing Mazs not wanting to continue the conversation Amocni said in a low almost whispering voice "Bro the others are talking about leaving the Guild, they said you don't pull your weight in the Guild, but I made them see your genus.

Without your battle plan and formation, we would have died a long time ago, and the only reason Dre died was because he didn't follow your orders, and I told them that you will soon receive a job that would make us more Gold coins" Mazs already knew how Amocni behave, the dark elf always tries to suck up to him for reasons he didn't know.

But that didn't stop him from taking advantage of it, What Amocni said last rang in Mazs head, he had no idea of any incoming job that would make them Gold coins so he simply asked to suspect that the Dark elf might be up to something "What job would that be"

Amocni smiled "There's this Earl I know who might be looking for capable Adventurers. I made contact with him yesterday when we got back, which was why I left before we regrouped"

Mazs fell into a deep thought 'The others are planning on leaving and I need to earn back every copper I spent on this Guild, I will have Amocni accept the Job offer and quickly sell this Soul Gem, then after our last Job and they decide to leave I will collect everything they own me, I can become rich enough to become a baron' Mazs couldn't help but smile, finally a way out from this guild he thought.

"Very good Amocni, go and contact the Earl and tell him that we will take the job, I will have the others resupply then we will move out immediately after you return" Mazs was in a good mood, he wanted to get everything over with, he could picture himself living a baron life.

Amocni left in a hurry, Mazs went back to observing the appraiser method, it was taking too long "Miss aren't you done, I don't have all day" The lady smiled as she apologized, she didn't know why it was taking too long after waiting for an hour Mazs lost his cool "Lady are you sure you know what you are doing, I have been standing here for hours, just return my Gem to me, am done here"

He snatched the Gem away from the lady and stormed off, it was still early in the morning, most shops were still closed, and the morning dew slowly evaporating, As Mazs walked towards the inn he had a lot of ideas but for now, he would have to wait until after this new job.

'Maybe I should go resupply myself since am less busy anyway, and I can't spend time with those filthy Demi-humans' he thought as he changed his direction.
