Reunited, and it feels so good

Since grandpa blew up Val’s house, guess who stayed with us? I didn’t mind. At least, if Val was here, I didn’t have to worry about her. We didn’t learn if the crossfire caught Seb and Seth until they had sorted through the rubble. I gained a new roommate.

As I got her settled, someone knocked at the door.

/"Hey, Shay,/" I said.

/"Are you guys okay?/" He asked.

/"Yeah. Thanks for the phone call./"

/"Yeah, well, I don’t want to make that call./"

/"Still, thank you,/" Val said.

Then Ryanne yelled, /"Shay, it’s your turn!/"

/"Got to go. We’re having a heated battle of Monopoly./"

He waved to us.

/"Is something happening with those two?/" Val asked.

/"I don’t think so. Shay has become a wonderful companion to her./"

She smiled.

/"That’s good./"
