The Dawn

Salem: "To get to the point," Salem spoke up, not wanting to beat around the bush any longer. "The Relic of Choice is gone. The vault was breached and it is no longer here."

Logan: "When did you notice the disappearance?" Logan asked seriously, knowing just how powerful the Relic could be in the right hands.

Ozpin: "Minutes after the party." Ozpin supplied. "We felt a disturbance in the vault and headed down there straight away. We got there too late to find the culprit. They left us with little to no clues to go on aside from the door being forced open with some type of magic."

.

Logan sighed and muttered under his breath about not getting any more free time before shaking himself and asking the two to wait so that he could get dressed. Afterward, Logan left them and got dressed more properly than in shorts and a shirt. Logan told Glynda about what happened and kissed her before leaving with Ozpin and Salem.

.

The vault wasn't someplace that Logan had been to or even seen before; in this life or the last. All he knew about the vault that housed the Relic of Choice is that the Statue in Beacon's fountain was linked to the vault. From there, Logan was treading unknown territory. As the three of them got to the fountain, Logan saw that the damage was far worse than he was told.

.

The fountain was blown to bits with scattered remains all over the courtyard. Students and professors all stood around in awe at the destruction. A few brave ones got close enough to look down to where a tunnel was hidden below the fountain. Logan got to work and started barking orders for the Hunter/Huntresses-in-training to get to work cleaning up the broken pieces and placing them into a single pile. Those that weren't, were blocked by the professors from coming any further as Logan came and looked down the tunnel.

.

Logan: "Down there?" Logan asked his two companions to which they nodded. "Well then, let's go," Logan said as he made an ash platform which all three stood on as they descended.

.

Down and down they went for seemingly miles; with only the occasional light giving the notice that they were still going down. Finally, they reached the ground after almost a minute of travel to find a vast underground library filled with numerous tomes. Logan looked around in awe as he could tell this was the resting place of the lost history of the current era.

.

Ozpin: "As impressive as it is, we need to keep moving." Ozpin spoke up, getting Logan's mind back on track.

Logan: "Right, lead the way." Logan told them, glancing one last time at all the books around.

.

From here, Salem took point and lead them deeper into the underground library, waving her hand every now and then as they walked. Ozin explained that she was deactivating traps she had set up long ago; answering Logan's unasked question. After another minute or two of walking, the three were met by a massive opened door. The group stopped right before heading on inside at Ozpin's request.

.

Ozpin: "This is how we found it." Ozpin spoke. "Doors open and the relic missing. No traps activated nor any alarm sprung." Ozpin spoke gravely. "Whoever this was, had a deep knowledge of magic and years of experience."

Logan: "Are you sure the Relic is missing?" Logan asked as from what he could see, beyond the door was a row of hedges in a maze-like pattern.

Salem: "Yes, we're sure." Salem spoke up this time, her voice just as grave. "What you see should only be an illusion that tricks the eye into thinking the hedged are only a foot tall. Without the relic, they revert back to their original height.

Logan: "The wisdom needed to see through things." Logan mused. "Have you thought that whoever was here is still trapped inside of the maze?"

Salem: "If that was the case, the hedges will still appear to be a foot tall." Salem explained. "Without the relic powering the magic, the magic is dispelled."

.

After that question, Logan started looking around for any clues; though he already had a good idea of who the culprit was. He looked around the door, the hedges, and even the library for any clues but found none. Logan made a mental note to scold whichever one of the Homoucleas, probably 01, about being so blatant about their theft. Logan sighed after finding nothing useful other than some interesting books he would have loved to read. Logan returned back to them and chatted about what other protections the vault had and the relic.

.

Logan learned that the Relic of Choice was far more than what the show had told him. For one, it showed the user the most accurate future of the coming month, not random visions of the future. Second, unlike the other Relics that had a limited number of uses or limits to them, The Relic of Choice had nothing like that placed on it. As for protections around the vault, numerous hexes and curses were placed one after another to safeguard the vault on top of being sealed by them and only being capable of being opened by the Fall Maiden. The only thing the Vault shared was that only the right Maiden could open it between the rest of them.

.

Logan sighed as he realized that Magus was the one that had ordered the theft. Possibly having 01 do it during his Wedding as a way to make sure that no one would notice until it was too late. Though Logan could understand why he would need the Relic, he never would forgive him if he had planned for it to happen during his Wedding. Logan just hoped that it wasn't the case and that it was 01 just finding it the optimal time to do it.

.

Logan: "Well, there's nothing we can do right now." Logan spoke as the three of them finished going over what they found, which was nothing. "All we can do is keep our ears to the ground and wait for the Relic to surface."

Ozpin: "While that is true, we still need to actively look for it." Ozpin countered. "With proper use, it can be kept from our eyes and ears. Whatever the thief wishes to accomplish, we need to keep it from happening."

Salem: "I'll head to the other Vaults and reinforce the spells and add security alarm spells." Salem told them. "If one Relic was stolen, then the others are in danger. We can't let them be stolen."

.

Logan and Ozpin agreed. But then, Logan heard something he hadn't heard in a long time. A ding.

.

*Ding*

{Mission Start! Relic Retrieval: Retrieve all four Relics Rewards: [Ace of Spades], [Yggdrasil Wand], [Tome of Druid Magic]}

.

Logan mentally cursed and sighed. He hadn't heard from his system in so long, he'd nearly forgotten about it. The abilities he had, he had used for so long he had forgotten that they were gifts from the system. With the new mission in mind, Logan thought of a plan.

.

Logan: "How about I go?" Logan asked, getting questioning looks from Ozpin and Salem.

Ozpin: "Explain." Ozpin asked.

Logan: "How about I go and retrieve the Relics?" Logan asked then started to explain. "I can store them within my Void Storage ([Inventory]) and keep them safe. Plus you two know that my Void storage is impossible to trace. I could keep the remaining three relics safe from whoever stole the Relic of Choice."

Salem: "It's a good idea." Salem said after some thought. "Logan can't be killed and if he is, he can just revive himself. Plus, gathering the last remaining three won't be an issue as all four are needed to bring back the Brother Gods. I say we do it."

Ozpin: "It's a risky plan, but one I have to agree with." Ozpin thought then spoke. "Logan, go. Get the last three Relics before they are stolen. I'll inform the Headmasters that you are coming to get the Relics, however, finding the Maidens will be up to you."

Logan: "Looks like I'm calling in a lot of favors." Logan sighed.

.

After all that, Logan left the Vault. His first stop was Mistal and Haven Academy. Since he knew that Raven was still operating in the area and she still owed him a favor or three. From there, Logan planned to get Glynda to go with him to Atlas and get the relic there. After that, it was Vacuo and Shade Academy.

.

With all the plans set in stone for Logan, he got started.

.

Weeks passed as Logan made his trips. Grabbing the Relics of Knowledge and Creation. Turning his trip to Atlas into a family getaway from all the work-related troubles. Getting these two was the easiest since the Maidens need to open the Vaults were on his side about the plan. Raven not really caring and Glynda being on his side through anything. The last being the Relic of Destruction.

.

All Logan had to do now was convince Lapis, the Summer Maiden, to open the Vault. Which was going to be a pain in itself. Which is easier said than done. She had become a spoiled princess since she and her tribe moved to Shade. Logan was half tempted to just drag her by the hair and force her to open the Vault. Though Logan was sure that would just make the defensive spells activate.
