Chapter 35: The Devil Of Nazarick Pt2

Ainz rushed towards Scarlet as he swung his sword at her, he sliced her left arm off. But Scarlet attacked back by kicking Ainz away from her. Her left arm fell to the ground as it disintegrated  into ash, Scarlet snickered as her left arm grew back but it was a Grimm arm instead. She clinched her fist tightly as she laughed before rushing forwards at Ainz and grabbed his head before slamming him down onto the ground.

Ainz groaned as he was slammed down on the ground, he raised his right arm up and grabbed Scarlet by the neck and tossed her away from him. He stood up as he glared at her, he didn't say anything to provoke her or to play along with whatever plan she had brewing, he used his magic as lightning struck down upon Scarlet several times.

"I shall smite thee where she stands." Ainz finally spoke as he stood his ground, the Grimm still surrounding the two, as if they were watching things play out. Ainz didn't celebrate his victory over his attack, he knew it wouldn't be that easy to kill Scarlet.

The dust and smoke the lightning created upon impact with Scarlet and the ground slowly cleared as the Grimm girl was surrounded in electricity. She seemed to have been paralyzed from the attack however, her crimson red eyes glowed as she growled and gritted her teeth. She glared at Ainz, she couldn't move her body an inch. 

"I will... I will not fall!" Scarlet hissed as she gritted her teeth again, she tried to slowly raise her arm up. "Damn, my arm and body are numb..."

Ainz chuckled under his breath, he glanced around as he swung his sword at the surrounding Grimm. They all were sliced in half as they disintegrated into ash, he turned his attention back to Scarlet. "I hope you've learned your lesson... you are indeed a powerful foe. I'll give you that much. But you've yet to realize... I am Ainz Ooal Gown, the most powerful magic caster, undead and sorcerer king in the world." He stepped closer to Scarlet as he aimed the tip of his sword at her throat. "You'll have to try harder if you wish to kill me, but that will never happen."

Scarlet cursed under her breath, Ainz soon cut her head clean off as he grabbed her head and held her head close to his. Their eyes looking into each other's eyes, right before Ainz had set Scarlet's head ablaze, engulfing her head in a ball of fire. He tossed her head aside as he didn't bother finishing the job, but instead he took off towards Nazarick to help the floor guardians against Destoroyah.

Meanwhile near the borderline where Nazarick had cut itself off from the rest of civilization. Destoroyah was drawing closer, it roared and shrieked. It fired its Oxygen beam towards the Great Tomb of Nazarick. Mare and Aura yelled as the ceiling/ground above them shook with each step the Kaiju sized Grimm took. The elf siblings hugged each other tightly as they could hear Destoroyah roaring loudly, Demiurge gathered the other guardians as they were getting attack the monster.

"Be ready." Demiurge said as he adjusted his glasses. "Once it is close enough... we attack."

The rest of the floor guardians didn't say anything, nor did they wish to. Word about the death of Shalltear and the unconscious Albedo had gotten to them all. They were in a mourning state but at the same time, they couldn't let Nazarick fall so easily, they weren't even sure if Ainz would be able to make it back in time to help them.

Destoroyah got closer as it roared again, it fired its Oxygen beam once more as it hit Nazarick, chunks of the tomb crumbled as the entire place shook. Demiurge took this upon himself to attack first, he used his magic as he used hellfire wall, which surrounded the Grimm in a wall of black flames. Then he followed it up with hell flame, a small black flame latched itself onto Destoroyah as it was slowly growing, becoming a raging inferno flame burning at the Grimm. Destoroyah shrieked in pain but it continued to walk for a moment before coming to a stop.

"It stopped." Mare said as he looked at his sister and then over at Demiurge. "Do you think the flames attacked its soul?"

Demiurge adjusted his glasses again as he didn't say anything, he didn't even know if the monster had a soul or not. But something told him it didn't, suddenly the ceiling/ground above them caved in as small juvenile Destoroyah's fell in, there were five or ten. But it was hard to make out how many there were, due to the smoke and dust. Once it cleared there were ten of them, each one roared as it became clear to everyone in Nazarick that these ten were all combined to make the giant version.

"Looks like we have no choice but to fight here. We have to hold them off long enough for Lord Ainz to return." Demiurge said.

Mare and Aura nodded as the others did as well, they would protect Nazarick with their life, even if it meant dying by these monsters. Ainz showed up after a long while, it had seemed he was too late, the bodies of the floor guardians and the others were laying all over the ground, Destoroyah was nowhere to be seen as well. Ainz clinched his fist as his red eyes glowed with anger.

"Damn it, I'm too late!" Ainz yelled, he walked over to Demiurge's body as he knelt down. There was a gaping hole in his chest, Ainz was silent now. He stood up after picking up the body, it took him a long while but he collected all the bodies and placed them into a pile. "I'm sorry..."

The air was silent and still, no sounds were heard nor were there any signs that Destoroyah was lurking around. But then the silence was broken, the roar of a juvenile Destoroyah echoed throughout Nazarick. But it sounded like a roar of pain, Ainz quickly took off towards the sound's location as he soon came to a stop. His throne room was in shambles, his throne was cracked as he saw someone sitting there. His eyes widen as he realized who it was.

"Impossible, I cut your head clean off." Ainz said as he approached slowly, he scanned the room as he stopped a few feet away from his throne.

Scarlet snickered as she was petting Hero, the feline cat jumped off of her lap as he stretched. The fear he had upon seeing her change was gone, but at the same time, he still feared what evil was brewing deep within Scarlet. The Grimm girl grinned as she looked at Ainz, her toothy grin was a twisted smile, one only a mother could love. "You thought, but you were quick to leave. No matter how much you try... you won't succeed." She stood up from the throne as she walked over towards Ainz. "I had to feed to reattach my head back to my body. Luckily I already did that."

Ainz was puzzled as he took a moment to think, then it hit him. "You ate it... that monster."

Scarlet snickered again, she didn't show any remorse in having to feed on the Grimm to regain what strength she needed. "So what if I did? It doesn't bother me any, they may be my own kind. But they fought well... and you Ainz.... this world is your tomb, an empty one at that. No one around to be with you... everyone you know and love is dead or in a deep sleep."

"I will stop you." Ainz said as he grabbed his sword and was about to swing it at her, but he stopped. He noticed Scarlet clinching her fists so much that her nails dug into her palms as blood dripped down from them. "Is something the matter? Are you finally realizing that you can't win against me?"

"No, she realized that I've been here the entire time." Queen spoke as she walked out from the shadows and shot the red orb inside Ainz. "We meet again Scarlet, I was starting to think you wouldn't be tracking me down. Sadly... after what you had asked Beerus to do... well, it didn't help."

Ainz looked down at the red orb as it cracked. He was silent, he listened to what was being said. He didn't say anything. Scarlet knew what Queen was talking about, the Grimm girl snarled as she was about to attack Queen but shadow arms rose up from below her and grabbed her. Queen laughed as she looked at her, she walked over towards her as she held the blade of her sword against her throat.

"A little gift I stole from your darling wife. Don't you find it.... fascinating?" Queen asked as she kneed Scarlet in the gut which caused her to puke. "Salem is terrorizing Tengu City again. I grabbed another version of your mother from another Remnant timeline and dropped her into Tengu City."

Scarlet's eyes glowed as she looked at Queen. "You sonuvabitch, you will burn in the depths of hell!"

Queen laughed again as she moved away from Scarlet. "So much bark, yet no bite... I wonder, would you truly be mad if I killed your family? Or maybe brainwash them.... oh better yet... brainwash you again into obeying your mother." 

Before anyone in the room could do anything, Ainz fired a fire ball at Queen, but it missed as Queen deflected it. The spirit turned around as she walked past Ainz and cut a tear in space and time open with her sword, she was silent now as she went through.

The hands that had grabbed Scarlet vanished, she didn't say anything to Ainz about what happened. She stayed silent for a moment as she looked over to her furry feline, she walked past Ainz as she whistled. Hero ran over to her as he looked up at her with a confused look on his face.

"You're not going to help him are you?" Hero asked curiously, he knew that trying to convince her into doing so wouldn't be an ideal thing to do. "We don't even know where Queen is going too next."

"I'm aware." Scarlet said as she didn't make any eye contact with Hero. "Which is why, I'm sending you to Tengu City." She stopped as she looked at the tear in front of her that Queen left. 

Hero stopped as he sat down. "And what am I supposed to do? Last I checked from you. Salem is pure evil and unstoppable."

Scarlet glanced down at him as she didn't say anything, she picked him up before tossing him into the tear. She turned around to look at Ainz, she noticed that he was looking at her. Both silent for a moment, not saying a word to each other. The Grimm girl stepped through as the tear closed up behind her.

Ainz sighed as he walked over to his throne and sat down. "I have a lot of cleaning up to do...." His armor returned on him as he decided to hide the cracked orb. "This is going to be fun..."
