"Isn't he lovely..."

Maya watched as the maid held her new born baby boy with her back turned on her. She was too weak to look up to see the face of her child.

"He looks just like you," the maid was facing the window, as she held the child playfully in her arms. "Too bad he might not have too many friends his age after the night is done."

"What?"Maya's curiosity was instantly aroused by that. She looked up to see who was actually carrying her baby. "Freda...? I thought you were..."

"Dead?" Freda let out a loud laugh that made Maya's blood run cold. "Well, I am dead, my queen. I just came to take your son with me."

"What do you mean?" before she could finish asking her question, Freda took out what looked like a dagger. "Freda, stop! Please..." she ignored the weakness that had her on her bed, and hurriedly made for Freda.

"I'm sorry, my queen." With a forceful stab, Freda nailed the baby right in the chest with the dagger.
