"There's no point staying here," Lucas said, with utmost conviction, and that had Selene even more scared. "Alpha Ryder and Larry will keep coming for me no matter what I do…"

"But I just can't get up and follow you to some unknown place. Especially if it's somewhere around. Alpha Ryder will easily find us, and I'm not really sure what he'll do to us if he finds out about that," Selene was frightened to the death by the very thought of being runaway lovers.

"So… what will you have me do? I can't be away from you anymore," he had reached the end of his patience with hanging around his mate, and being unable to make any advances at her.

In all his days of being desirous of the males in his pack, he had never thought that he would ever be able to fall that far for a woman until he found Selene.
