The forest sped past in a blur of greens and browns as I drove, the car humming softly beneath me. Mina lay beside me, still unconscious, her breathing shallow but steady. I glanced over at her, my heart aching with worry. The wound I had healed was deep, but not life-threatening. Yet she had been unconscious for a few hours now, and I couldn't help but fear for her.

I had seen the chaos unfold, the perfect opportunity to run off and disappear, at least for a while. The Coalition would think we were kidnapped, just like they believed about Kale. Azaria's brutal display had given me the cover I needed. They would never suspect we took this chance to flee especially with the amount of blood at the scene.
