The monster

Talon got up from the ground and hurried to meet Nina who had reached the bottom of the pool.

Without hesitation, he dived inside the water. Since the water was dark, it was hard finding a person. But with great effort and energy, he pulled out Nina from the pool.

"Nina!" He said upon seeing that she had fallen unconscious.

His white long sleeves was dripping wet with the black water and he was panting heavily but he didn't care about his state. His attention was solely focused on Nina who lay in his arms with eyes closed.

He placed her on the dried leaves. Seeing her not wake up, he started to pump her chest by placing both his hands and pushing it down.

It took a minute before Nina started to cough out all the water she drank. She looked terrified.

After crying, she reached her small hands to Talon's and buried her face in his chest as she muffled small cries.

The void of seeing her parents and the torture given to her by Lucifer gave her a great shock.

"The monster. The monster. The monster." Was all she could say as she was still in shock with everything that happened.

"Don't be scared. You're no longer there."

Her body was vibrating with shock and not less than a minute, she became unconscious again.

When Nina woke up the day after, it was bright and early in the morning. She was the only one in her room.

Her long lashes fluttered open and she turned her head to the side to see the door open.

Her arms were wrapped around herself as she looked at the door. She took a deep breath assuring herself nothing would happen but the next second, Hernia pulled her down on her knees.

"You dare use your powers on us. Do you know how long it took us to heal?" Hernia glowered at Nina with ferocious eyes.

Intense sorrow flashed through Nina's eyes as she stared at Hernia. She did not know how to swim and the powers that released from her back then was unwillingly.

PAK

Nina was pushed to the ground with so much force that it made a loud thud.

That was all Nina saw before she fainted. Opening her eyes, she saw herself in a dark room. The place was quiet, deadly silent that Nina was growing more afraid. Her hands were bound to the chair and she squinted her eyes to see anything.

But everywhere was dark.

Without warning, something like metal chains passed through her face and Nina got startled.

The next thing, her legs were bound to a small table.

She felt someone placed the tip of a dagger underneath her nails before pushing it more. The person began to pull off her nails. She could feel prickling wet mixture on her leg and knew instantly it was her blood.

"Stop it! Please!" She begged.

"Next time you should know when to use your powers. You don't use them on us!"

"Please!"

The pain was too much and it was hurting Talon in his ears. Her screams and cries filled the room and he felt the urge to kill the demons. But he couldn't do so as he wasn't strong enough to kill them.

"This would do now." Hernia stood up and switched on the lights to see the young girl covered with sweats.

Hernia stretched her hands up and the nails came back to her feet.

"She shouldn't be given blood for the whole of today," Hernia said before leaving the room and darkness overwhelmed Nina.

She was like that until the next day and the next two days.

Her body felt so heavy and drained up. All she wanted to do was open her eyes but they were too heavy. Her throat ached for something she wanted so bad.

"It's been two days, Talon."

She heard whispers in the room. Her mind couldn't focus on what they were saying as she was thirsty for something other than water.

"I was able to smuggle some cans of blood."

"They would never forgive us if they caught us doing so."

Nina recognized the last voice to be Talon. What were they talking about? She could not move or even worse cry for help. Every part of her body hurts so bad.

"She needs to feed. I would never forgive myself if she dies. Talon do something."

"I can talk to Piper. She might agree in giving Nina blood."

Nina could hear Talon's loud footsteps shuffling away and the door closed behind her.

Hannah approached her and bent down close to Nina. Hannah opened one of the cans and drew it to her mouth.

Her fangs ascended instantly and she drank gulped down the blood without hesitation. The warm sweet metallic taste of blood went down to her throat making all her organs come back to life.

Hannah dropped the first can and opened another one. Nina drank not one, two, three but four cans of blood.

Once she was done, she opened her eyes to see Hannah smiling at her.

"I'm so glad you're awake after two days." Hannah continued smiling.

Talon walked inside the room and approached them.

"Piper already agreed that she should be fed." He tucked his hands in his front pocket.

The door flung open and a group of demons came inside.

"I hope you learnt your lessons already." Hernia said with a serious expression. "Next time you try using your powers on us your tongue would be next in line."

"Today would be your second test." Hernia announced.
