First encounter with the Devil

Throughout the next week, Talon taught Nina on how to control her powers. Since she was still a freshman, it took her a long time on having full control on her powers.

The next day as planned will be when Nina would take her first test.

Nina looked carefully at her surroundings. They were in a place next to a black pool. The surroundings of the pool was long thick bushes.

"Where are we?" Nina turned to Talon and the rest demons.

"This is the birthplace of Lucifer. Where he was also baptized." Hernia stated as she also looked at her surroundings.

"So why are we here?" Nina questioned.

"Because this would be where your test would begin." Hernia approached her with a small black cloth. She tied the cloth around Nina's eyes.

Nina opened her mouth to say something but quickly closed it when she saw herself in the pool.

"What are you—"

Before she could finish, Hernia pushed her down to the water. Hernia and Piper got inside and they held Nina's head in place to stop her from moving.

"I know you can defeat him." Hernia cut her short.

The black inky water found it's way into Nina's lungs. She couldn't breathe.

The chilling cold of the water gripped her and the fear of suffocating slowly overwhelmed her.

After struggling, she slowly sunk herself to the bottom with the demons hand still griping her head. She closed her eyes with her mouth parted and hands apart.

Opening her eyes, she saw herself in a completely dark room. Nina looked around trying to find a way out when she heard a scream.

That voice. It was too familiar in her head. She already knew who it was. Her mother!

With inhuman speed, Nina followed the scream to a room which resembled a mental hospital. Everywhere was pure white.

"Mom! Dad!" Nina was afraid.

The next thing she saw was blood dripping in the wall and her mother's corpse on the ground. She quickly hurried to her mother and tried to wake her up only to hear a voice.

"Run!"

It was her father. Nina looked back and saw her father already dead in the hands of a monster.

He had long claws with two burning horns on his forehead. His eyes were black and his two sharp fangs stained with blood of her father.

"You!"

Nina spun towards him but with just one wave, she was already on the wall begging for her life.

He took a step forward with his hands still tightly wrapped on her neck. When he ran his hands through her face, that spot suddenly had bruises with boils all over.

Nina remembered the words Talon spoke about Lucifer.

"He has one special and yet dangerous ability which can strip the life out of you. A white cloud is emitted from his hand and it acts like poison. Once it touches your skin, it can kill you instantly."

Nina shook away the thoughts from her head. She didn't expect the Devil to be this strong.

She distracted him by looking at the side and he followed her eyes. In a split second, she kicked him in his bottom and began to run for her dear life.

Every time she ran outside the room to another room, it would take her to the same place where the Devil is.

"Please don't kill me!" Nina cried out with tears dripping from her eyes.

"How about I give you a little taste of hell." He wiped his face off and Nina saw how his face turned to raw flesh.

Blood coming out of his face.

"Please!"

Meanwhile Talon who was watching the girl with full interest, got alert when he saw how she struggled in the water. It was obvious she was afraid of the Devil.

"Don't you think this would hurt her too much? I mean this is her first encounter with Lucifer. We should make it short for her." Talon tried to convince Piper whose eyes was covered. Another eye popped out in her forehead and she began to mumble a strange language.

Nina was fighting to release herself from the water as she tried to lose herself from the demons.

Talon breathed out when they didn't reply and he went back to the spot to sit down. He remembered his first encounter and how he screamed when he saw the Devil.

Nina on the other hand was still running from the Devil. She was running but he was just walking. His longs loud steps echoed in Nina's ears and within seconds, he caught her.

"I am going to show you why plotting to kill the Devil is never a good idea." His voice was dark and ruthless.

"There are many ways I can make you suffer in this void of yours." Lucifer snapped his hand and Nina fell back onto her knees as her heart began to burn red.

"Ahh!" Nina screamed and screamed. No matter how much she kept on rolling the fire in her chest got really hotter.

"Esta endo qui ovealee mot." The demons muttered under their breaths.

A small black flame released from inside Nina and the demons all scattered to different directions.
