Chapter 5: Invitation and Sacred Gear

Lucas Apartment

(Lucas POV)

I opened the door to my apartment and lay down the floor. I'm exhausted mentally and I close my eyes to rest for a little bit. "Hmm. Alot of interesting things happened today. *chuckle*

After resting for awhile. I started to do my daily routine at night, cook, take a bath, read some novels and sleep.

(Alarm ringing)

I woke up early and started my morning routine. I thought of something yesterday so I went to buy some sweet snacks in the convenience as I need to "abduct" a.. *cough2x* I mean I need to befriend a cute girl.

Kuoh Academy

I arrived at school and entered my class. Nothing unusual happened this morning when I entered the school and I did not see those 3 guys yesterday. While I was waiting for the class to start, I heard the boys talking about the top 4 beauties of the school namely, Rias, Akeno, Shitori, and Tsubaki. 

''It seems I was lucky to meet 3 of them yesterday.'' As for Rias, I already met her the other day. And for the girls, they were talking about some guy name "Kiba". It seems he is popular among the girls. On the other hand, I heard them also talking about "the perverted trio'' and I already guessed whom they were talking about. It seems they were popular too but in a negative way. The bell rang and teacher came then proceed to her lecture.

Time Skip

Hours have passed, it was finally time for lunch. I was going to invite Koneko but I was stopped by the girl beside me.

Girl 1: "Ano, Agawa-Kun do you want to join us for lunch?" she invited me with her friends beside her.

I was surprised for a moment, ''Sorry Sakura san, I have an appointment with someone. Maybe some other day.'' I declined politely and smiled. She blushed and nodded shyly saying "OK".

I stood up and look for Koneko but she already left. I hurriedly went outside to catch up on her. While I was looking for Koneko, I saw Souna Senpai and Tsubaki Senpai standing near the entrance of the school building but I did not approach her as I have to go at the Old building site.

Souna: "Agawa kun, wait" she called me.

I paused and look at her. "Is there something you need President?" I asked her.

Souna: "I wish to talk to you about something. Do you have time?"

When I heard her, I guess of something. "Uhmm, I have to do something first. We can have an appointment, maybe tomorrow or day after tomorrow?" I need sometime to think first as I guessed what she will offer.

Sona pondered for a second, "Okay, the Day after tomorrow, let's meet at the Student Council Office during lunch." replied Sona. As if remembering, "Do you play chess?" She asked.

Lucas: "I have played when I was in middle school." I nodded as I said.

Sona: "Okay, we won't bother you anymore. See you on Thursday then." She bowed and left with Tsubaki.

(Sona's POV)

After I talked with Agawa, I planned to go back to the office. I noticed 3 guys looking at our direction. I stared at them for a second and I recognized them instantly as they were too famous in school. I shook my head and was going to look away but I noticed something. I look back at them or to be precise, its the guy with a spiky brown hair. "A Sacred Gear" I whispered to myself.

Tsubaki noticed that I stopped walking. "President?" 

I came back to my senses and continue to walk as I started to plan something. 

Sona: "Tsubaki, gather information about the guy with a spiky brown hair." As I pointed out with my eyes..

Tsubaki looked looked at the direction with her eyes without turning her head. She was confused for a moment but she replied "Rest assured President."

Sona: "Also, Inform Rias that I need to meet her this afternoon after class. Say it's urgent." 

Tsubaki: "Yes President. I take my leave first."

I saw Tsubaki leaving and thought of something. "I guess I will help her a little."

(Lucas POV:)

As I arrive near the old building, I found the tree from yesterday. I arrived but Koneko seems not to be here.

I remembered something and I acted like I unintentionally look up. I was happy and disappointed at the same time. I was happy because Koneko was there, disappointed because I did not see heaven when she jumped down. I think she was wearing a cycling shorts. 

Koneko: "Hmmph" She seem to notice my disappointed face.

Lucas: "Have you eaten? I bought some sweet snacks?" I hurriedly coax her and showed the snacks. She had a blank face but I can see stars in her eyes. 

Lucas: "Come let's dig in." I sat and invited her. She nodded and sat on the other side. 

We ate peacefully as she does not talk that much. But I enjoyed it anyway. I only asked her about her relationship with Akeno and it seems they were on the same Club.

Lucas: "Occult Research Club? That's a weird name. Do they search for ghosts or something?" I thought as I look at Koneko enjoying her snack.

ORC Building

(Rias POV)

I was peeking at the window looking at the two figures. "They seem to get along well". 

"knock knock" I was distracted by the knock and I saw Akeno came in.

Akeno: "Buchou, Tsubaki San is here. She has a message from President Sona." She said after approaching me.

I raised my eyebrows thinking what could it be. "Let her in." I said.

I sat back on the sofa as Tsubaki came in.

Tsubaki: "Hello, Rias Sama. I came to deliver a message from Sona Sama." she said as she bow a little. "She invites you to discuss something at the Student Council Office after class this afternoon. She says it is urgent." 

Rias: "Hmm, Is it regarding Agawa?" I asked in confirmation.

Tsubaki: "Sorry Rias Sama, Sona Sama did not tell me." she said apologetically.

I nodded and said "Okay, tell her that I will come."

Tsubaki: "I take my leave now Rias Sama" She bid and left.

I was pondering for awhile and look at Akeno. "What do you think Akeno?"

Akeno: "Hmmm, I can only think that it is about Agawa Kun or maybe Sona Sama discovered Something."

I nodded and stop thinking about it. I will know when we meet. I undressed and went to take a bath.

Afternoon (After Class)

(Sona's POV)

I was sitting on my chair in the office, with Tsubaki on the side, waiting for someone. After a couple of minutes, "Knock Knock" Rias came in with Akeno behind her and I stood up as they approach.

Rias: "You don't mind if Akeno is here?" she asked.

Sona: "I don't mind. Please sit down. Tsubaki please make some tea for our guest." I said.

Tsubaki nodded and complied.

Rias and Akeno sat on the opposite side of the table.

Rias: "Sona, what makes you urgent to meet me? Is it regarding Agawa or is there something else?" Rias took the initiative to start the discussion.

Sona: "It involves him maybe. But the main reason is not him."

Rias frowned a little. "What is it?"

Sona: "Sacred Gear". I paused for a second and said.

I saw Rias and Akeno surprised expression. I felt proud of myself for making them react like that.

Rias: "I already checked Agawa and he does not have a sacred gear. If I guess correctly, you found someone with a Sacred Gear? Is she/he in Kuoh Academy?" Rias pondered for awhile as she said.

Sona: "Before answering, I have to make a condition. As I am the one who discovered the holder, I will give you a chance to choose. Agawa Kun or the holder of Sacred Gear? You know that I am also in need of Evil pieces." I gave her options.

Rias was surprise that I gave her the option to choose. She smiled and expressed her gratitude. "Thank you Sona." She looked at Akeno and said: "What do you think Akeno."

Akeno thought for a second and asked me: "Sona Sama, can we know the person with a Sacred Gear?"

I nodded: "Tsubaki"

Tsubaki from the side opened a document: "Issei Hyoudou, a native of Kuoh Town, the only child of the Hyoudou Residence. He is one of the member of the "Pervert Trio" in school. Academics are average and Physical Fitness is average. So far, he is not involved in any supernatural events....."

After Tsubaki finished narrating, Rias and Akeno are did not speak for awhile.

Akeno: "Buchou, I will support you on what your decision is." She said. "But we need to inform Koneko about it. You know.." She reminded Rias of something.

Rias nodded on Akeno's suggestion and looked at me: "Can you give us time to think? I need to confirm the holder of the Sacred Gear. Also I have to consider the opinion of my peerage. Maybe within this week we can give you an answer."

I nodded in agreement: "Okay Rias, I can only help you this much. But next time, I will directly recruit others to my peerage without informing you. I also need to fill up my Evil pieces.." 

Rias nodded and stood up: "Thank you Sona, We will take our leave first" She bowed and left.

I watched them leave as Tsubaki closed the door. She approached me and she seems to hesitate to say something.

Sona: "What is it Tsubaki?" I asked.

Tsubaki: "President, uhm why did you tell them about the Sacred Gear holder." She asked.

I looked at her and said: "Tsubaki, let me ask you. Are you comfortable to be with a Pervert?"

Tsubaki was stunned for a moment then came back to her senses: "Forget that I Asked Sona Sama". she hurriedly said.

I look at her expression and felt funny. I clasped my hands resting my chin on it. "Besides, you also need talent to handle a sacred gear. As for the holder, you already know it." I made Tsubaki investigate Hyoudou to know his talent but sadly I was disappointed. I also know Rias, she is desperate to gain power so she will choose the holder of the Sacred Gear.

Tsubaki heard me speak and she also came to a realization. Her admiration of me has reach another level.

Sona: "As for Agawa Kun. We will know when we meet him this Thursday." I leaned on the chair and closed my eyes...
