Seeing the hybrids, the face of Francis dropped, "Well, I did not mean today…" He hoped that he had wished for something else, yet it was too late for that now. Looking back at James, he said, "So, what are we supposed to do now? Something about blow the horn of battle or something?"
Hearing what Francis said, James realized that they still had a task to do as the patrol team. Whenever a situation arise which would endanger The Holy City of Hermes, the patrol team was tasked to blow the horns. With that James looked at the closest horn. The horn was still some ways out.
To prevent the travel, the church provided the soldiers with little bamboo flutes. With this they could both, signal and alert each other as well as let the horn crew notify for incoming danger. As James was running towards the horn, he realized that this was what he had to do. Stopping at his tracks, he took out the small flute and blew on it as hard as he could.
There was a shrieking sound that came from the flute. Hearing this, the surrounding soldiers who did not realize that something was up, looked over at James. Ones he realized this, he pointed towards the incoming group of demonic beasts. As soldiers saw the incoming group, the soldiers started to feel their nerves tense up. At that point James heard a loud sound, "bwAAAAAAAHHHP!"
The time had ones again arrived for the walls to become a battlefield. Thinking about this, a shiver went over the body of James, as he was already seeing the bodies that would lay on the ground form the battle. James felt sadness in his heart because of this, yet there was nothing they could do. The strongest weapons they had were the individual powers the soldiers had. James had heard some rumors about a new weapons being developed with snow powder, but how would those fireworks be able to kill and defeat those demonic beasts? Puzzled by this, James shook his head, trying to concentrate back at the task at hand.

Some 10 minutes passed by and the demonic beasts were rather close by now. If reinforcements would not arrive within the coming 2 minutes, it might be too late. Thinking how he had wasted some time when enjoying the scenery, James felt a sense of guilt getting to him.
Looking at the direction as he started to prepare himself, James started to count down the time the demonic beasts would arrive. Estimating the breaths, he realized that there were around 200 breaths left before the demonic beasts would arrive.
As time passed, James did not see any reinforcements, there were only 100 breaths left. Yet there was no one arriving. James started to wonder, "Did the soldiers in the city not hear the horns? What if my mistake wasted too much time and because of that the soldiers were still on the way?" Various thoughts popped up in his mind.
50 breaths left… Looking back ones again to see if anyone would arrive in time, James was disappointed that he could see no one approaching from the stairs. Just as he was about to face back towards the beasts, James noticed a plume rising from where the stairs are. And then another plume, and another. It was the plumes from the helmets that some of the soldiers were wearing. The reinforcements had finally arrived, and just in time as well. Now they were finally ready to meet the incoming enemy with full force.
