The Mysterious George

It's been months since Barge and George are living together. Yet Barge finds George mysterious. She barely talk to him and just talk to johny and pony, her pets. As a way of gratitude, Barge started to tend the farm and started planting.

"Oh I never imagined your good at that," George said to Barge. "Well my father used to be a farmer, you know his hobby when he's off work," replied Barge. George also help and utter, "it's been quiet awhile since I hold this weapon, I lost interest on this when ma and pa died," they also had fun doing farm things," George sadly said. "I'm sorry I put you unto this, you can rest, I just do it myself," Barge utter. But George still continue in silence.

It is lunch when George said they must eat. At the table, George open her cabinet full of food. Makes Barge wonder that she must be from the stanning because she got a lot of stock. When they eat, Barge said, "I can see that you are from the stanning because you got plenty and the fact that you are not rationing you know." George just laughed, "just eat and we will return to our work for us to even have a lavished greeny food let's say two to three months from now," and they laughed.

They return in the field tilting the land. They just focused on tilting for that day and when the rain is coming, George said that they would stop. They stop and went inside. The rain is heavy and so George decided that they would have coffee. Barge wanted to start a conversation about her food supplies but he was afraid that George would be angry. "If you didn't want me here, I can leave you know," Barge said. George replied, "no it's not that, I'm just not being used to have someone with me and such people keeps on barging questions." 

The rain stops and so Barge decided to rest in his barn. Inside, he lay his head and just keeps on wandering who really George was. What if she's from stanning also and what if she's a spy, what if she would turn him over to the police. In his mind "well if she really wanted to she must not help him and it's been three months since that day happened and George is kind to him for letting him have a home instead of returning to the garbage pit. The barn is really good compared to where he was before. 

The next morning he noticed George was on the field already. "So what's gonna be our plant in this field Mr. Farmer?," George curiously asked. Barge replied, "it must be a cornfield." "Okay that's genius I still got few seedlings on the barn," George said. They started planting seeds and at the back of George's mind said, "hope it will work dear Lord, or else I would be returning to stealing again." At the back of Barge's mind also said, "hope it will really grow, for me to contribute for our food, anyway its just us two plus her pets but pony is a big one and must be fed three rations."

It's been three months past that they finally harvest the corn they planted. Barge can really see that George's face became happy for the first time. Barge also finally relieved as to not disappoint George or else he would be vanished. "Barge it's a great harvest, we can have supply, with all these, it can be for years," George happily uttered. "Yes George, we can eat all we want and plant even more for us to have a full supply," Barge replied. 

When the harvest was done, and after they eat dinner, they finally rest on each bedroom. George lay on her bed and still cannot contain the happiness and said, "ma and pa I was so happy this day, it was like the feeling we had our first harvest before.....you must be happy too,,,because I won't be sneaking to the stanning to steal anymore....well we got plenty of harvest and I can eat corn porridge all my life not just to be a stealer again." George finally rest happy and peacefully.

The next morning, George tend to the horse while singing. She got such a lovely voice like an angel. Barge was awaken with her lovely voice and also became happy hearing such because he can feel that George was finally happy. "Good morning George," greeted Barge and George replied, "yes good morning Barge." Barge was even happier because it's the first time he heard George called her Barge in a calm manner. For most of the time he was called Mr. Stranger, Mr. Farmer, Mr. wounded man and many more. 

"Oh just eat corn porridge in the kitchen, I'm just gonna take pony for a bath," George utter while riding her horse way to the river. "Okay don't you want me to come?....George didn't replied,,he added, "Okay just be careful." But at the back of his mind, he didn't worry a single bit because he knew George was a strong independent girl before he came.

Barge go into the kitchen and eat the porridge. While eating, he noticed a family frame at the top of the cabined. He wonders, this must be George's parents but there are two child being carried. He asked himself about the picture knowing George to not be fond of questions. As he can see from the picture, it was two child with the same physique and same clothes. he thought they must be a twin. 

George finally arrived and so Barge hurried to get out from the kitchen. He just look George and just proceed to the barn. Still he finds George mysterious and who's her twin, where is she now. George never mentioned anything about her and seldom about her parents and even much more about her life.
