Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Training With Alexandra

Alexandra dragged the three of them outside the city to the ruin of an old farming house.

"Good, this looks like a good place to start training."

"Training in what?" Cael growled at her. Eva and Gabriella were already exhausted from being dragged all the way here.

"My ability is [Strength]. It allows me to increase my physical Strength to an extreme degree." Alexandra smiled, taking her stance facing a stone wall. She took a deep breath and pulled her fist away.

"This is at full force, watch." In an instant, she punched the wall as hard as she could.

Thwack! Alexandra's punch blew a hole in the wall as if it was nothing, "See?" She pulled her hand and pointed at the result.

"Now watch as I use less strength." She sent another punch, THWACK! CRACK! The wall exploded, shattering into rubble.

"Strength results in speed and power. Using too much will cause my punches to blow holes in everything. To make sure I can dead some damage, I use far less Strength.

"What is that going to help us with?" Gabriella growled at her.

"All three of you are great but lack control." She stared at Cael, "You have a great ability but can't control it well."

"I can use my [Slash] adequately. You don't have to teach me how to use it. I've been fighting with it for years now." Cael growled.

Alexandra smiled, "Your ability [Slash] increases your cutting capacity. That means that everything that has the slightest cutting power is a deadly weapon in your hand."

She walked toward him and grabbed his hand, "You don't need a weapon. Your hand alone can perform a cutting motion." She pointed at a three, "I want you to slice that with your open palm," BAM! she smacked him on the back and turned toward the two girls.

"High priest Gabriella, I was told by the soldier that you managed to do something nasty to the Jailer. A gross lump of flesh grew on her neck, they said." Alexandra looked at Gabriella with a smile.

Gabriella looked at her with a worried face, "We healers can close wounds and regenerate flesh. But we can fail and cause catastrophic flesh growth." She looked at her hands, "Usually, the magic automatically stop as soon as the lump starts. It's like a safety mechanism built into the spell we learned."

Alexandra stared at her, "The genius of the church, Gabriella failed to cast a spell?"

Gabriella shook her head, "I know how to cast healing magic perfectly. That also means I know how to make it fail." Gabriell lifted her hand, "Even when the safety shutdown of magic starts, I cause even that to fail. That caused the lump of flesh to grow so large on the Jailer."

Eva looked at Gabriella, "When the Jailer saw it, she said something about the central library or something?"

Gabriella looked at them, "The church's main library is where they store all of their magical knowledge. What I did might have seemed like heresy to her."

"Forcing magic to fail is just as cursing god itself, a forbidden act," Eva said with a worried face.

Gabriella looked worried. Luckily the Jailer won't return to the church to inform them.

"Can it kill people?" Alexandra asked, glaring directly at Gabriella's eyes.

"It can. But the target needs an injury first. Even a scratch would do the trick."

Alexandra smiled, "Then practice it. It's useful as a weapon."

"But it's heresy!" Gabriella gasped. BAM! Alexandra punched her in the face.

BAM! Gabriella fell on her back, bleeding from her nose. "I don't care. You used it before, didn't you?" Alexandra smiled, lifting Gabriella from her hair, "If you had practiced it, you could have saved the boy. He's up there unconscious because you didn't practice it enough."

"Sister, you're going too far. It's inhumane to use such magic against humans." Gabriella growled.

Alexandra smiled, "I see, you're not like him. I bet I will like the boy more than you." She dropped her down. "I heard he stripped the Jailer in front of everyone and even beat the hell out of her. That's the type of people who survive."

"When it's life or death, no one care if you're naked or using forbidden magic. The one who survives is the one to laugh at the end." Alexandra lifted her arms, "If you're enemy hate something, then use it against them. Your enemies aren't going to show you mercy. And so you must show them nothing but suffering."

"But what if they..." before Gabriella could finish, Alexandra cut her, "Then they won't be standing in front of you with their blades drawn."

Gabriella stood in silence, staring at her sister with a puzzled face.

"Fine, but how do I train?" Gabriella asked, resting her hands on her hips.

Alexandra looked at her, "I will count to three. If you don't guess on your own," Alexandra stared at her, "I will slap you."

"What?"

"One!"

"Tell me? What do you mean?"

"Two!"

"Do I train on you? You will die."

"three!"

"Fine, I will..." Gabriella lifted her hands, but before she could do anything, SLAP!

Gabriella fell on the ground, her cheek red, "Look behind me. The forest is vast and filled with monsters. Go there and catch something to train on."

"Catch a live monster?"

"You do need to train physically as well, so go." Alexandra smiled.

"No, I won't," Gabriella replied. "That place is dangerous."

Alexandra looked at her and started taking her belt off, "Now, take your pants off. I'm going to tan your hide till you start listening."

Gabriella immediately ran to the forest with a scared face.

Alexandra then turned toward Eva, "Now, your turn."

Eva backed away, "What do you want me to do?" She asked with a worried face.

"You have a healing ability. I need you to be able to cast it in the middle of battle." Alexandra said with a smiling face. "First, learn how to stay alive." She took off her armors and cracked her fists.

"What are you doing?"

"I will attack you continuously, and I want you to keep dodging. Each time I hit you, you strip one layer." Alexandra said with a smile. Cael's head cracked to the side, glaring at them. BAM! Alexandra immediately grabbed a stone and smacked him in the head.

"Why?" Eva cried, taking a few steps back.

"That stupid nun clothes you wear all the time are hard to move in. Take them off or wear armor. Even my dumb sister got that right." She replied with a serious face.

"You're the one who dragged me here, stop joking," Eva yelled at her.

"An enemy won't wait for you to change. You must be ready all the time. Now take this." Alexandra pulled a dagger from her pocket and threw it at Eva.

Eva stared at the weapon, "Okay, I understand." She sighed, grabbing the dagger.

ZIIT! she cut her nun robe from the ankle up to the hip and then sliced it at the knees. She took her shoes off and threw her headpiece. "Fine, let's move."

"That's what I like to hear." Alexandra smiled.
