Once the lunch bell rang he looked out to see the students walk towards the field with their Hotoji's in hand.

Koji peaked his head out and saw how big the school truly was as it was bigger then 5 football fields combined.

Once Koji had entered the hallway he was noticed by a handful of students and started walking the opposite way.

"Who's that? A new student?"

The other students shrugged before they noticed Koji had run into Zuang.

Although they could see Master Zuang talking with the masked man but they couldn't hear what they were saying.

"It must be one of master Zuang's students. I was hoping it was the mysterious new Soul Master."

All the students nodded in agreement before they saw Master Zuang bow slightly to Koji.

It was here that they realized it was the New Soul Master as it was tradition to pay respects to a fellow Soul Master.

Zuang noticed the students were looking at him and Koji and realized he had involuntarily exposed Koji before Zuang led Koji down a flight of stairs.

"Starting tomorrow you will be tested in your combat skills and then assigned to a team. During the years of training here you and your team can take part in events."

Koji was still very much against the idea of joining a team and would rather fight alone.

Thankfully his wish was granted as Zuang pulled out a black with gold lining token.

"there are some who instead become a squad leader if they pass the test and chose some students to follow them."

Koji followed Zuang to what looked to be a archery range with a few students firing arrows.

"If I pass the test can I choose no one?"

Zuang was half surprised as he knew Koji wanted to work alone but thought even he would sense how difficult the test would be.

"Yes theoretically you can do that but-"

"That's enough then. I don't want to slow anyone down with me."

Zuang was confused and rightfully so.

'Slow them down? They would be trying to catch up with you as you leave them behind.'

Surprisingly Xia suddenly entered the archery range and noticed Koji and Zuang.

"What's going on old man? Koji here interested in archery?"

Zuang was quick to respond while Koji began exploring.

"I'm showing Koji here around the campus before the test tomorrow."

Xia however was looking elsewhere before Zuang saw what Xia was looking at as Koji had pick up a bow and a few arrows before looking at the target then at Zuang and Xia.

Both Xia and Zuang were curious about what will happen before Xia stepped up to the firing line and shot an arrrow to hit a perfect bullseye.

"Care you try it yourself? It can be quite difficult to use but I'm-"

Koji had already shot an arrow and was close to hitting a bullseye as well which surprised Xia and Zuang before Koji fired another arrow and hit a bullseye.

Both Xia and Zuang began clapping in amazement as the target was over 80ft away but Koji didn't stop with just one arrow.

In what seemed like seconds Koji had fired enough arrows to make the target's look like needle beds.

Koji himself was too immersed in what he just did before he noticed Xia and Zuang's eyes wide open with their mouths gaping wide open.

But it wasn't just Xia and Zuang as dozens of students were in shocked as well before the students screamed in astonishment.

Xia and Zuang then noticed the horde of students behind them and began pushing them out of the room but a few managed to slip by and approach Koji.

However Koji knocked them out with one good punch to the head and sent them flying while Koji was hyperventilating as he didn't see students wanting to know more about him but monsters wanting to devour him whole.

Koji called Hatasho to his hands and looked ready to kill them all but his hands trembled.

No one dared to approach nor did they speak a word before Koji used Hatasho to slice a hole in the wall and used Cloud walker to escape.

Koji soon found himself in the middle of the training ground with hundreds of students and teachers around him.

Most thought Koji was a student training with his partner before Xia and Zuang appeared on opposite ends of Koji.

"Students get back! Teachers! Make sure no students approach Koji!"

Many of the students began running to a safe distance while one teacher used his chain like hotoji to restrain Koji but failed as it broke to pieces.

Koji's eyes glazed over as he lunged at the teacher with his bare hands and began strangling the teacher.

Zuang and the others tried to pull Koji off but couldn't so much as budge Koji before he screamed while tears began flowing through the mask's eyeholes.

""YOU WONT TAKE THEM FROM ME AGAIN!! AHHHH!""

Just then Madam Bo punched Koji and sent him into the ground while the teachers around carried the wounded teacher away.

"That Enough Koji."

Koji's eyes returned to normal while his breathing went back to normal as well.

Madam Bo picked Koji up in her arms and started floating into the air while Zuang managed the situation at the field.

Koji woke up and felt his entire body in pain as Madam Bo stood near Koji with her hand on Hatasho.

"W-W-What happened?"

Madam Bo had a look of anger on her face as she pointed to the fields.

"You attacked several students and strangled a teacher. You may have potential to be a great Soul Master but I will not tolerate this kind of behaviour."

Koji clenched his fist before mustering the strength to stand on his feet.

"I NEVER WANTED THIS! I DONT CARE ABOUT BEING A SOUL MASTER!"

Madam Bo had heard from old man Zuang that Koji despises Soul guardians but wanted to know why.

"Koji… what has made you come to hate soul guardians? What happened to your family?"

Koji remained silent for a moment before he pointed at her.

"You soul guardians only care to fill your pockets so why should I tell you how you prestigious and righteous soul guardians killed my family!"

Madam Bo suddenly embraced Koji with a warm hug before patting koji's head.

"Don't think of me as the headmaster but a kind lady wanting to help. Will you tell me what happened to you and your family?"

Madam Bo's warm and embracing hug reminded Koji of his mother before he started to share his past on the day his life changed forever.

On koji's 11th birthday he and his family with celebrating with a typical birthday cake on the table before there was loud banging on the door Koji looked out the window to see some men standing outside before Koji heard his father's screams as he fell back with a sword impaled in his chest.

"Koji! Chi Chi! Get behind me!"

The men walked over the corpse while Koji was scared for his life while his mom spoke up while she pointed a knife at the intruders.

"Get out of my house! Get back! Get-"

It was too late as Koji witness his mothers body fall to the ground without a head before one of the men grabbed Chi Chi and smiled.

"Think these two will sell for a good price? Maybe we can keep this one for ourselves."

Chi Chi then bit the man's hand and tried running with Koji behind but we're caught before they could get out of the house.

"You bitch! Now I'm definitely going to gut you! You just attacked a Soul Guardian and now you die!"

Koji then witnessed the man who Chi Chi bit slash her to Chest open while Koji was made to watch as they defiled her in her last moments.

But just as Koji saw a knife about to cut him it was stopped.

"Leave the boy, he will know anguish from what he has seen. Take anything valuable!"

The men began ransacking the house for anything they could sell until they finally left while Koji was left alone in the blood of his family.

Madam Bo wrapped her arms around Koji as he was just an endless river of tears.

"I'm… I'm so sorry Koji. No child should experience anything like that."

Koji however took off his student robe and handed it to Madam Bo.

"I'm not suited to be in your school nor is it what I want."

However Madam Bo took the robe and put it back on Koji.

"Yes you are indeed suited to be in my school. If after one whole year here that you wish to leave then I won't stop you but I want you to stay and have a normal life."

To Koji he knew nothing of a normal life but wanted to see what it was like as he bowed to Madam Bo and left the roof via the stairway after grabbing Hatasho.

But Madam Bo still couldn't wrap her head around what Koji had told her.

'It's no wonder why he hates soul guardians. I need to show the boy that he is missing the chance to have a normal life.'
