Undead, a taboo

Although she was not sure on how to behave while dealing with these strangers, she was not a complete dummy. She knew politeness would not cause too much trouble. 

Rubin frowned as he heard the soft voice and the gratitude for 'water'. This Vampire was strange. His voice is like a girl and after drinking blood he thinks it was water.

Why was he behaving like a human?

The other undead frowned too and thought there must be something wrong with the vampire's brain. It was common knowledge in Asmara that Undead was not liked by other races. Devil treated them marginally well so as to maintain their alliance and that was it.

Undead was the taboo, rejected by the Lord God they had no respect and prosperity in the world.

Benny was simple-minded and didn't care about her words and quietly explained everything as it was clear that meeting this youth was not a designed trap and he was truly sick. Well! Mentally, at least, he was a fool.

Selena coughed hard as she heard she has consumed blood as she was 'dying' and this group helped her kindly.

Blood!

What blood?!

Wasn't Selena Markovian not a vampire before?

How did she become a vampire all of a sudden? If it was true then she was attacked by vampires while running away from Moonshine Palace.

Damn! That's why she felt like dying just after coming inside this world and this group was not hostile to her. It was common knowledge that the undead stick together in everything. 

Besides, she was in the body of a high ranking branch of Vampire; their status was high. Basically, all vampires were nobles.

Benny was simple-minded but not a fool so how could he not understand the youth's aversion towards blood. But vampires like blood so why does this youth hate his food? It doesn't make sense unless he was a newborn and that too a human turned vampire.

"Are you okay? Were you kidnapped from the human continent? Where is your Sire?" He asked everything in one go.

His conjectures helped his team members as they now placed full attention on Selena. They came together and surrounded her. The laid back attitude completely vanished and their vigilance gave Selena no time to think hard and spurt out every imaginable thing that she could muster up for coming out of this predicament. 

It was only natural. She doesn't want to die after getting a new chance of life. Even if she is undead, life is better than death. It was not because she was cowardly but courageous. Yes, she was brave to stand up for herself. 

Anyway, she knew about this world from the memory of the previous owner and also had an inkling about the future so it was not that difficult for her to get out of this problem.

"I don't know. I really don't know. They kidnapped me and I woke up here in the middle of those corpses. I don't know anything else. Please help me! Fellow brothers and sisters."

With that said, waterworks came out of her eyes. Everything about vampires can't cry and bla! Bla! Were all jokes.

Vampires can cry and Selena was a hybrid so she had retained her human characteristics. Her dominant character was of a human but now it seems her character has changed into a vampire which was good in this situation. 

"What? Try to remember! Without your Sire how can you live? What is your identity? Tell us everything otherwise…" 

Jeremy threatened in his cold voice. He was trying to threaten her to make sure there were no future troubles coming for them. He didn't have the intention to kill her. It was all a farce to get information out of her.

Selena was not an idiot. She knew he was trying to check her story so was not that scared anymore. After all, even if she was not a great actor she has still read and watched many dramas.

"Big brother! That you know...your kind has been coming or I must say appearing out of nowhere like radishes in the Central region so I was just running away and got kidnapped after that I don't know what happened. Please be merciful. It was not my intention to disturb you." Selena begged pitifully. She even wanted to kowtow and bang her head so that they would leave her alone.

She didn't lie to them. It was a situation similar to the apocalypse on the Syracuse continent. Zombies were appearing and attacking humans and other races were trying to fish in muddy waters.

Although at this point of time Selena never managed to get out of Vrasycrus ( Undead continent ) she also knew that creating a new identity was beneficial for her. The original Selena was dead and she doesn't want to go back into the Markovian family again to get a headache. So she can only rely on these people. 

She must cherish this opportunity and should go with this team. They look healthy, pretty and able.

As they heard everything from the youth's mouth, they were shocked speechless as the information was truly grave.

Undead were accumulating in Syracuse but why didn't they know anything about this? Could this person be lying?

No, it doesn't seem so. This was an important matter and they must report it to their teacher. They were the students of Philip Academy. The number one school for the Undead in the Vrasycrus.

"How can it be?" Cleopatra was confused and distracted. She was a superior undead from her level of dark grey tints and Selena could see it clearly. 

It helped her in making her decision; this group doesn't seem bad. She should hang on their tails and safely live in this place. It was better than going to The Moonshine Palace.
