As Max and Emi made their way back to the police station, Emi couldn't shake off a lingering sense of paranoia.
She couldn't help it. She and Max had nearly been killed by, apparently, Blue Shield members.
Her mind raced with every step she took.
Max, too, remained on edge, a bit of resentment showing through her tired face as she walked alongside Emi.
Approaching the familiar sight of the station's entrance, the guards stationed outside greeted them with cautious gazes and Emi instinctively glared daggers back at them.
Thankfully, one of them pulled out his phone.
"Ma'am?" He said after a while. "We have two guildies here who... don't look too good."
A while later, Julia came out of the station.
Julia's weary expression softened into concern as she took in the state of the two girls, her fatigue momentarily forgotten in the face of their evident distress.
