The Black Cat, Part Sixteen

Zenith shifted restlessly between Asuka and Emi. 

She'd had her eyes closed for the last 40 minutes, but no matter how hard she just couldn't fall asleep. 

With a quiet sigh, she gently extricated herself from the tangle of blankets and limbs, careful not to wake her slumbering companions.

Padding silently across the room, Zenith made her way through the dimly lit corridors of the police station.

She walked out to the front.

The night air was cool against her skin as Zenith ventured outside, where the hushed murmurs of the guards on watch greeted her ears.

She nodded in acknowledgment as she passed by, their vigilant eyes scanning the darkness beyond the gates.

[... No one got stabbed in their sleep. Guess that's a small victory.] 

At that moment, Zenith took stock of all the EXP she'd gotten recently.
